For a budget 27-inch gaming monitor, the KTC H27T22C-3 is a strong 1440p candidate: PC Gamer lists it with a 210Hz IPS panel and FreeSync and G-Sync compatibility. If you would rather ease the graphics load and are comfortable with a less-detailed picture, consider the LG UltraGear 27GS50FX-B, a 1080p model officially specified at 180Hz. The right pick depends on the frame rates your PC can sustain, the games you play, and the price and exact SKU available where you live.

Choose between 1440p and 1080p
1440p for a sharper 27-inch picture
A 2560×1440 screen has more pixels than a 1920×1080 screen at the same 27-inch size, which makes it the sharper choice. The trade-off is extra GPU work: the graphics card must render more pixels, so sustaining high frame rates can be harder. Newegg Insider describes 27-inch 1440p as a mainstream value tier, but your GPU and games determine whether a high refresh rate is practical.
1080p for a lighter graphics workload
The LG 27GS50FX-B provides a specified 180Hz refresh rate at 1920×1080. Choosing 1080p can make it easier for a given PC to deliver high frame rates than rendering at 1440p, though actual performance depends on the game and graphics hardware. Decide whether that trade is worthwhile for the games you play and how much image detail matters to you.

How to judge refresh rate and motion
Refresh rate describes how often the display can update; it does not, by itself, tell you how clear moving objects will look. A higher advertised figure is useful only if your PC can deliver frames at a rate that takes advantage of it, and the panel handles transitions well.
Look for independent motion results for the exact model when available. RTINGS notes black smearing in dark scenes on a budget 180Hz VA monitor in its guide, illustrating why refresh rate alone is not a motion-quality verdict. PC Gamer praises the KTC’s response performance while listing its 210Hz specification; those are distinct kinds of evidence, not equivalent measurements.

- QHD Resolution (2560 x 1440) has 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD for incredibly detailed pinsharp images
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadow for added depth - making every scene feel more vivid and realistic
- The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
Match the panel and variable refresh to your setup
IPS or VA
Newegg Insider characterizes IPS panels as offering broad viewing angles and color performance, while VA panels generally offer deeper native contrast. These are broad panel-type tendencies, not a guarantee of how a particular model looks or performs. Consider whether you prioritize contrast in dark games or viewing angles and color, then check model-specific reviews.
FreeSync, G-Sync compatibility, and inputs
Variable refresh rate can help synchronize display updates with graphics output. Check that the monitor’s stated FreeSync or G-Sync Compatible support matches your graphics card and that the input you plan to use supports the resolution and refresh rate you want. Do not assume every port enables every advertised mode; confirm the exact model’s specifications.

Console players should verify supported resolution, refresh rate, VRR, and HDMI bandwidth for the specific monitor. RTINGS notes that a budget monitor in its roundup lacks HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and therefore cannot take full advantage of some console signals. Treat console compatibility as a model-specific check, not something guaranteed by a high refresh-rate number.
