Before resetting a Verizon Ellipsis 7, confirm which Google account holds its Android backup and whether important files are also stored elsewhere. A factory data reset erases the tablet’s data and returns it to factory defaults. After setup, restore Google-backed settings through Android setup and reinstall apps; restore Verizon Cloud content separately in the Verizon Cloud app. Neither path guarantees that every file or app’s data will return.
Before you reset the Ellipsis 7
Check the backup account first, while the tablet can still reach Settings. The legacy Verizon Ellipsis 7 User Guide places the controls at Apps → Settings → Backup & reset. There, review Back up my data and Backup account. The guide says the backup setting enables or disables backup of current settings and application data to Google’s server, and the account option lets you view or add the Google account used for backup. Its instructions are in the Verizon Ellipsis 7 User Guide.
- Make sure you know which Google account is selected and can sign in to it during setup.
- Check separately for important photos, documents, or other files in Verizon Cloud or another location. Do not assume that a Google backup includes Verizon Cloud content.
- If a file matters and you cannot confirm that it is backed up, copy it somewhere safe before resetting if possible.
The guide is specific to the Ellipsis 7 but dates from an earlier Android era; menu labels and Google services may have changed. Its description is not a guarantee that a current cloud backup exists or that all content can be recovered.
Factory-reset the tablet from Settings
Use this route if the Ellipsis 7 starts and you can open Settings. A factory data reset returns the tablet to factory defaults and erases tablet data, including account settings, system and application data and settings, and downloaded applications. The tablet will prompt you to set it up again.

- Open Apps → Settings → Backup & reset.
- Confirm the intended Google backup account and any other copies of important files before proceeding.
- Choose Factory data reset and follow the on-screen prompts to confirm. Read the confirmation screen carefully before approving the erase.
- Wait for the tablet to restart, then complete its setup.
Choose the restore path that matches your backup
Google backup and Verizon Cloud are separate recovery paths, not interchangeable full-device images. Use the service where the data was actually saved, and only expect content that is available in that account.

Restore Google-backed settings during setup
After the reset, follow the setup prompts and sign in with the Google account used for the backup. The Ellipsis 7 guide says to sign in with that account on a new device to restore settings and other data. It describes Automatic restore more narrowly: backed-up settings are restored when an application is reinstalled. It does not establish that every app, local file, or app-specific item will come back.

Restore content from Verizon Cloud
Verizon’s Verizon Cloud support instructions for Android describe downloading backed-up content after a master reset with these steps:
- Open the Verizon Cloud app and tap the gear icon.
- Tap Restore content.
- Select the available content categories you want, such as Photos, Documents, or Calls.
- Tap Restore.
- When the app reports “Restore from Verizon Cloud complete,” restart the tablet as Verizon instructs.
If a category or restore control is grayed out, Verizon says there is no content available to restore for it. A tablet without its own 10-digit mobile number shares a Verizon Cloud account with another device, so check the account associated with that other device if needed. Verizon Cloud restores only content present and available in the account; it does not establish that every item on the tablet was backed up.

If the tablet cannot reach Settings
If the Ellipsis 7 will not start far enough to open Settings, do not rely on an unverified button combination. The available Verizon Community search references include a report of a “no command” screen, but they do not establish a reliable, universal recovery-button procedure for this device. Contact Verizon support or use a verified Ellipsis 7-specific service resource for instructions appropriate to the tablet before attempting a hardware reset.
