KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX covers six early series stories, but two are presented as cinematic compilations rather than playable games. HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue combines a remastered game, a movie, and a short episode; KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind pairs the third main game with its DLC. The upcoming KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] bundles all three collections and is listed by Square Enix for release on October 8, 2026.
Which games and stories are in each Kingdom Hearts collection?
Here is the content at a glance. The format column matters: a listed story is not always a game you can play.

| KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX | KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX; Re:Chain of Memories; KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX; 358/2 Days; Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX; Re:coded | FINAL MIX, Re:Chain of Memories, II FINAL MIX, and Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX are games. 358/2 Days and Re:coded are HD cutscene compilations, not playable versions of those games. Square Enix’s collection page and its support FAQ identify the cinematic entries. |
| KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue | Dream Drop Distance HD; χ Back Cover; 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage – | Dream Drop Distance HD is a remastered game; χ Back Cover is an HD movie; 0.2 Birth by Sleep is a short episode linking to KINGDOM HEARTS III. Square Enix describes these formats. |
| KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind | KINGDOM HEARTS III and Re Mind DLC | The main game and Re Mind, an additional chapter set during the game’s climax. Square Enix describes the contents. |
| KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] | HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX; HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue; KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind DLC | It bundles the three collections above, including their playable games and cinematic content. Square Enix’s collection page lists the bundle. |
Is 358/2 Days playable in 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX?
No. The collection includes an HD cutscene compilation of 358/2 Days, not the original Nintendo DS game as a playable entry. Re:coded is treated the same way: its story is represented by an HD cutscene compilation. Square Enix’s support FAQ calls both “HD remastered cinematics.”
That distinction makes the phrase “six stories” more accurate than “six playable games” when describing 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX.

Square Enix lists these distinctions on its official collection page.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is in the new KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III]?
The bundle brings together HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind. It is therefore the broadest of the collections compared here, but it does not turn the cinematic compilations in 1.5 + 2.5 into playable games.
