Can you set a waypoint in GTA 6 yet?
There is no confirmed public instruction for setting a waypoint in GTA 6. Rockstar’s official game page confirms that the game is set in Leonida and features Vice City, but the reviewed official material does not explain map controls, marker behavior, destination choices, or route guidance. That means there is not yet a verified button sequence or menu path to provide.
Likewise, Rockstar has not confirmed whether players can place custom pins, select named destinations, filter map icons, or clear a waypoint. Those may be useful questions to answer once controls are documented, but they should not be treated as established GTA 6 features.
What is confirmed about GTA 6 and its platforms?
Rockstar’s official page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and gives a release date of November 19, 2026. Rockstar announced that date on November 6, 2025. Check the official GTA VI page and release announcement for current details, since dates and platform information can change.

What to verify when navigation instructions become available
A reliable tutorial should establish the controls separately for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, rather than assume the same button inputs on both. For each platform, look for confirmation of:

- How to place, change, and remove a waypoint, if those options are available.
- Whether the map supports named destinations, custom pins, or filters.
- How a selected route appears in the HUD or game world, and what happens if it is interrupted.
- How to make a marker or route visible again if it is hidden.
Until Rockstar publishes instructions or the released game can be checked directly, a specific control combination or step-by-step route tutorial would be speculation. Do not rely on instructions for earlier Grand Theft Auto games as proof of how GTA 6 works.
