Yes. On Android, you can turn off Chrome’s extra verification for filling sensitive information, which suppresses biometric or screen-lock prompts in that autofill flow. On desktop, Chrome’s biometric password-fill feature is off by default. Passkey sign-in is separate and may still require your device’s screen lock.
Turn off extra verification in Chrome on Android
Google’s documented Android setting is for the additional check when Chrome fills sensitive information. To change it:
- Open Chrome and tap the three-dot menu.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Passwords and Autofill, then Autofill settings.
- Turn off Verify it’s you when filling sensitive info.
Google says that with this toggle off, screen-lock and biometric prompts will not appear when you autofill sensitive information. The setting’s wording or location may vary by Chrome version. Google Chrome Help: Manage passwords in Chrome
What to expect on desktop Chrome
Google documents biometric verification for password filling on desktop as off by default. If you have enabled it, the setting depends on your computer: Windows Chrome can use Windows Hello, while Chrome on Mac can use the device’s screen lock. Look in Chrome’s password-management settings for Use Windows Hello when filling passwords on PC or Use your screen lock when filling passwords on Mac. Google Chrome Help: Manage passwords in Chrome

Saved-password autofill and passkeys are different
Turning off Android’s sensitive-information autofill check does not mean every sign-in can proceed without device authentication. A passkey is not a saved password being filled into a form: Google Password Manager on Android uses the device screen lock to access saved passwords and passkeys, and Chrome may ask for screen-lock confirmation when a site or app requests a passkey. Choose a different autofill provider on Android
Chrome on Android lets you choose Google or another autofill provider. Google’s guidance establishes that this choice is available, but does not compare third-party services or recommend a particular one. Saved passwords and passkeys in Google Password Manager can be available on devices where you are signed in to the same Google Account. Google Chrome Help: Fill out forms automatically
