One USB-C wall adapter can charge a USB-C iPhone, compatible iPad, and many AirPods cases—but each needs the right cable or charging surface. Apple Watch also needs its magnetic charging accessory; a USB-C adapter alone cannot charge it. To charge two devices at once, the adapter must have enough ports, and its available power may be divided between them.
What “sharing a charger” means
Usually, devices share the wall adapter, not a single cable. Plug each device into its own suitable cable or charging accessory, and make sure the adapter has enough output ports for the devices you want to charge simultaneously. Apple documents charging up to two devices at once with its 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter.
USB-C is a widely used connection standard, but a USB-C-shaped plug does not guarantee that every cable or accessory is compliant or compatible. Apple advises using USB-C devices and cables that comply with the standard, and says third-party power adapters should meet applicable regional regulations and safety standards. Can one adapter charge an iPhone and AirPods at the same time?
Yes, if the adapter has two usable output ports, or if one of the devices is connected through a suitable wireless charging accessory. With two USB-C ports, connect the iPhone and the AirPods case using the appropriate cables. A Lightning AirPods case needs USB-C-to-Lightning; a USB-C case needs USB-C. Apple says its 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter can charge up to two devices at once.

These are examples for Apple’s 35W adapter, not a promise about other dual-port chargers. Check the adapter’s specifications for how it allocates power across ports.
What charging speed should you expect?
Apple says a USB-C adapter rated at 20W or higher can charge an iPhone faster than a lower-powered adapter. That is a general guidance threshold, not a guarantee of a particular charging time. When two devices are connected, the available output may be divided, and the allocation depends on the adapter’s design and the devices. Avoid assuming that a multiport adapter will provide its full rated power to every connected device.

How to choose a shared charger
- Count the devices you will charge together. Check how many output ports the adapter has and whether they match the cables you need.
- Match each connection. Identify whether each device needs USB-C, Lightning, a magnetic Watch charger, or a wireless charging surface.
- Check output and power sharing. A total wattage rating does not necessarily mean each port can deliver that amount when multiple devices are connected.
- Use a compliant adapter and cable. Follow the applicable safety requirements in your region, and do not assume an unverified third-party USB-C product will work as expected.
Apple also says iPhone 15 and later can provide up to 4.5W to small devices that support USB Power Delivery. That is reverse charging from the iPhone, not a specification for USB-C wall adapters, and it should not be confused with charging several devices from one wall charger. Apple’s iPhone USB-C guidance
