Some perks have limits: not every item qualifies for every delivery speed, not every Prime Video title is included, and purchases such as meals and prescriptions still cost money. Paid options—including Prime Video Ultra, video add-on channels, Music Unlimited, and RxPass—are separate from the standard membership.
What does Amazon Prime include?
Amazon’s U.S. membership combines shopping and delivery perks with access to selected entertainment, storage, reading, gaming, and partner offers. Benefits, availability, and terms can vary by location, account, and eligible item. Amazon’s Prime benefits overview describes more than 300 million items available with free Prime shipping in the U.S.; that is an Amazon-reported availability figure, not a promise that a particular item qualifies for your address.
Shipping and shopping
Members can get free Prime shipping on eligible products, with Same-Day and One-Day options on eligible orders in covered areas. Amazon says tens of millions of products are available for free Same-Day or One-Day delivery. In select cities and towns, Amazon reports that more than 90,000 items are available for one-hour or three-hour delivery. These options depend on inventory, ZIP code, order timing, and checkout eligibility. Prime also provides access to Prime-exclusive deals and events such as Prime Day.
Streaming, music, reading, and games
Prime includes access to a changing catalogue of movies and series through Prime Video, including Amazon MGM titles and select live programming. Included titles vary; some Prime Video content requires a separate purchase or subscription. Prime Video works on many devices, so a dedicated streaming device is optional.

Amazon Music Prime includes ad-free music and podcasts, but it is not the same as full on-demand access to Music Unlimited. Much of the music catalogue is played in shuffle mode, while All-Access Playlists provide a more selected listening option. Prime also offers selected and rotating Kindle reading content, a rotating gaming library, and Twitch benefits; it does not include every book or game.
Photos and partner offers
Amazon Photos includes unlimited full-resolution photo storage and 5 GB of video storage, according to Amazon’s current benefits information. Prime also lists offers such as Grubhub+, eligible grocery and fuel savings, and prescription-related savings. Their practical value depends on eligibility, location, purchase, and offer terms.

How much is Amazon Prime per month?
Amazon lists the standard U.S. membership at $14.99 per month or $139 per year. The annual option costs $40.88 less than paying the monthly rate for 12 months ($179.88), before any taxes or changes to pricing.

Which Prime benefits require extra fees?
A benefit can be part of Prime without making the products or services used through it free. These are the key distinctions:

Do you have to pay extra for Prime Video channels?
Yes. Third-party add-on channels are optional paid subscriptions separate from Prime. Their catalogues and live streams are controlled by the providers, and available titles can vary. Amazon explains Prime Video add-on subscriptions and why they may carry separate fees.
Does Amazon Prime include ad-free Prime Video?
No. Included Prime movies and shows have limited ads. Prime Video Ultra is a paid upgrade for ad-free on-demand Prime titles, but ads may still appear in promotional trailers, live events or sports, select content, and add-on subscriptions. When are Prime delivery options actually available?
Delivery benefits apply to eligible products and delivery choices shown for your ZIP code. Same-Day availability can depend on the cutoff time, order threshold, destination, inventory, and capacity. A qualifying delivery date may become unavailable before checkout is complete. Check the item page and final checkout screen rather than assuming a listed speed applies to every order. Amazon’s Same-Day Delivery information explains eligibility and conditions.
Can you share Amazon Prime with household members?
Amazon Family allows sharing of selected benefits with one other adult in the household and eligible child or teen profiles, subject to Amazon’s rules. The older Prime Invitee sharing arrangement ended October 1, 2025, so older instructions about sharing through that program no longer describe the current arrangement. Check Amazon’s household-sharing information for the benefits and conditions that apply to your account.
How much value does Prime provide?
Value depends on how often you use eligible delivery, included entertainment, and other benefits—and whether you would otherwise pay for them. Amazon reported that U.S. members saved an average of more than $550 on delivery in 2025, using Amazon’s own calculation. That is not an independently measured or guaranteed saving for an individual member. Amazon also reported delivering more than 13 billion items same or next day globally to Prime members in 2025; that global fulfillment figure does not describe delivery availability for every U.S. address.
Before subscribing or renewing, compare the plan’s annual cost with the benefits you expect to use, and account for any separate channel, Ultra, Music Unlimited, grocery, meal, or pharmacy charges. Amazon’s benefit catalogue and prices can change; the service page and checkout terms for your account are the controlling details.
