In the United States, register an LG appliance by signing in to MyLG, opening My LG > Products > Register a Product, entering the requested product and purchase details, and submitting the form. Registration makes support information easier to access; it does not itself create a new warranty or extend the coverage that applies to your model.
What to have ready
- The appliance’s serial number.
- Your purchase date, purchase price, and place of purchase.
- Your receipt, delivery slip, or another payment record. Keep it in case you need to establish the applicable warranty period.
LG’s live form may change, so use the fields shown during registration. The registration page is LG Product Registration.
Register the appliance in MyLG
- Go to LG USA’s product-registration page and sign in to MyLG. Create an account if you do not have one.
- In the account, select My LG, then Products, then Register a Product.
- Enter the serial number and the requested purchase details, including price, date, and place of purchase. Review the product or model information the form displays.
- Submit the form. LG says a confirmation pop-up and email should appear, and the product information should be listed under Products in your account.
- Save the confirmation and your proof of purchase.

Registration and warranty coverage are different
Registration is an account and support record. LG says it provides convenient access to product warranties and owner’s manuals, lets customers request or track repairs, and can help verify ownership for claims. The applicable limited-warranty terms—not registration itself—determine what is covered. LG states, “The warranty period starts from the original date of delivery or purchase.” Check the warranty information for your exact model and keep the purchase or delivery record.

Do not assume every LG appliance has the same term or component coverage. For example, LG’s US washer warranty document specifies different periods for labor, ordinary parts, an electronic control board, a drum motor, and a stainless-steel drum. Those terms illustrate why model-specific documents matter; they are not a universal schedule. Look up your unit’s warranty and owner’s manual rather than applying another model’s terms.
Special cases and common registration problems
The model suffix is missing
LG says its form may show the model name without the suffix. For instance, LG gives LFDS22520S.ASTCNA0 as an example that may appear as LFDS22520S. If the displayed model otherwise matches, follow the form’s instructions; use the serial number and product details to confirm the appliance.

A previously registered appliance is not in MyLG
LG says MyLG displays registrations made through LG.com, not items registered by mail or through the ThinQ app. To make a product appear in the account, enter its information through LG.com’s registration form.
You need to change personal information
Open your MyLG profile or account information, edit the relevant account details, and save the changes. LG’s registration help article covers account edits.

Your password is rejected
LG’s help page says a password must have at least eight characters and use three of these four character types: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
Retailer coverage and optional service plans
Some coverage depends on where the appliance was purchased. LG’s Costco-specific terms say qualifying Costco members who buy a covered LG home appliance through Costco receive an additional year on the portion of the limited warranty that otherwise lasts one year, for two years total on that portion. Other terms stay the same, and some components may already have longer coverage. This is a retailer-specific provision, not the default for all LG purchases. LG Premium Care is an optional extended service plan, not a benefit automatically included with product registration. LG describes one-, two-, or three-year options for major appliances and home entertainment; coverage and conditions depend on the plan and jurisdiction. LG names Asurion Service Plans, Inc. as the obligor in most listed jurisdictions and Asurion Service Plans of Florida, Inc. in Florida. Before buying, compare the current price, eligibility, covered failures, exclusions, claims process, and responsible company in your location. Details are on LG’s warranty and service page.
If an appliance is already out of warranty, LG also offers Direct Service using genuine LG replacement parts. A diagnostic fee may apply and can change; check current availability and price with LG before arranging service.

Registration is separate from promotions and paid service plans. LG’s ThinQ extended-warranty promotion applied only to qualifying purchases from April 13, 2023 through July 10, 2024, with registration required by October 10, 2024; those deadlines have passed. The registration page may also advertise a welcome coupon for selected parts and accessories, but its availability and conditions can change. Check LG’s current offer terms rather than treating either offer as part of the appliance warranty.
