Punjab’s “interest-free loan scheme” for businesses refers most often to two separate programs: the Asaan Karobar Card and Asaan Karobar Finance. Their eligibility rules differ. The Card is for Punjab-based small entrepreneurs aged 21–57; Finance is for applicants aged 25–55 who meet additional SME, tax, credit and business-premises requirements. A detailed Finance document list has appeared in a 2025 trade-association notice, but the official program pages do not publish a complete current checklist, so confirm uploads through the live portal or helpline 1786.

Which Punjab interest-free loan program do you mean?

Use the program name when checking eligibility. Asaan Karobar Card and Asaan Karobar Finance are business-financing programs with different age limits, loan structures and document requirements. Punjab also has other interest-free programs, including farmer and overseas-employment schemes; their rules do not apply to these business programs.

The Punjab Portal describes the Card as digital SME credit of up to PKR 1 million. Finance is a separate, tiered SME financing scheme for larger amounts and specified business uses. Both program pages describe zero end-user interest, but that does not mean there are no processing, handling, equity or other applicable charges.

Who qualifies for the Asaan Karobar Card?

The Government of Punjab’s scheme page lists these criteria for the Card:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • You are a Pakistani national and resident of Punjab.
  • You are 21–57 years old.
  • You have a valid CNIC and a mobile number registered in your own name.
  • You own an existing business in Punjab or plan to start one there.
  • You pass the required credit and psychometric assessments and have a clean credit history with no overdue loans.
  • You are making only one application per individual and business.

The Punjab Portal lists a maximum limit of PKR 1 million, a non-refundable PKR 500 processing fee and application through the PITB digital portal. These terms and application availability can change; check the live Punjab Portal scheme information before applying. The Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) page also lists the 21–57 age range and describes a three-year term.

Who qualifies for Asaan Karobar Finance?

The Punjab Portal and Bank of Punjab pages generally list the following requirements:

  • You are a Pakistani national, resident in Punjab, and your business is located in Punjab.
  • You are 25–55 years old on the application date.
  • You have a valid CNIC and National Tax Number (NTN), are an active FBR tax filer, and have a clean credit history.
  • Your enterprise falls within the scheme’s stated annual-sales category: small enterprise up to PKR 150 million, or medium enterprise above PKR 150 million and up to PKR 800 million.
  • For working capital, expansion, or balancing, modernization and replacement (BMR) financing, you own or rent the premises in the relevant applicant’s, partner’s, director’s or business’s name.
  • You satisfy the Bank of Punjab’s underwriting requirements and applicable State Bank of Pakistan prudential regulations.

The Bank of Punjab page also says one loan is allowed per business per premises. Meeting the published criteria does not guarantee approval; the bank’s assessment still applies.

Finance tiers and costs

The Punjab Portal lists Tier 1 at PKR 1–5 million and Tier 2 at PKR 6–30 million. PSIC’s page instead gives Tier 2 as PKR 5–30 million, so the published pages conflict on the lower boundary. Confirm the tier and minimum amount shown in the current application portal before relying on either figure.

Finance tier Amount listed by Punjab Portal Security and term listed Processing fee listed
Tier 1 PKR 1–5 million Personal guarantee; up to five years PKR 5,000
Tier 2 PKR 6–30 million Secured; up to five years PKR 10,000

These are terms shown on the Punjab Portal, not a promise of approval or a complete statement of borrowing costs. Equity contributions and handling or actual charges can vary by case. See the current Punjab Portal, PSIC and Bank of Punjab program information for current terms.

What documents should Finance applicants prepare?

A 2025 notice from the Sports Industries Association of Pakistan reproduces a checklist attributed to a Bank of Punjab team leader. It can help applicants gather records, but it is not a definitive current checklist: the official program pages reviewed do not publish a complete upload list, and not every item necessarily applies to every borrower.

What documents are needed for the Asaan Karobar Card?

Official Card information establishes that you need a valid CNIC and a mobile number registered in your own name. The program also uses digital checks for identity, creditworthiness and business premises. The official pages reviewed do not provide a complete Card upload checklist, so do not assume the Finance document list applies. Check the live Card application portal or call 1786 for any additional requirements specific to your application.
