Then follow the instructions for that exact release from Dell Support. Afterward, verify the reported version, product health, connectivity, and the workflow related to the issue—not just whether the installer completed.
Dell’s version table, last updated 21 September 2026, lists CyberSense 8.17.0.2 as the latest and recommended release and 8.13.0 as the minimum supported version. Those figures are a dated baseline, not a guarantee of what is current when you patch. Check Dell’s software version table and the current CyberSense download page before choosing a target.
Before patching, confirm the target and the supported path
Do not select a release solely because its version number is higher. Compare your installed version and the defect or security issue you intend to address with Dell’s current Drivers and Downloads information, release notes, and support guidance. Dell defines recommended code as a version selected for reliability, including stability, security, and quality requirements; its criteria can vary by product. Dell also advises customers to maintain at least the minimum-supported code level.
In Dell’s version table updated 21 September 2026, CyberSense 8.17.0.2 is marked latest and recommended, with a release date of 1 July 2026. CyberSense 8.13.0 is marked minimum supported, released 3 September 2025. Check the live support information when you plan the change, since Dell may update the table or publish a newer package.

Use Dell E-Lab Navigator to check compatibility and interoperability for the actual environment. Review the release notes for prerequisites, known issues, upgrade-path special considerations, and any coordination required with the connected Cyber Recovery components. Do not assume that an in-place upgrade or a direct jump between versions is supported.
Prepare the maintenance window
Before starting, record enough information to compare the system before and after the change. These are prudent operational notes, not a claim that Dell requires this exact record in every release.

Obtain the installer and release documentation through the authorized Dell CyberSense support and download page. Some support resources may require a corporate account. Schedule the work in an appropriate maintenance window and follow the selected release’s procedure exactly.
Apply the patch using CyberSense-specific instructions
Dell provides a CyberSense upgrade demonstration, but the available page does not provide a detailed transcript or installation sequence. The exact commands, prerequisites, service behavior, reboot expectations, backup or recovery steps, and rollback process depend on the release and environment. Use the authenticated release documentation or ask Dell Support for those details before proceeding if they are unclear.

Do not adapt upgrade steps for PowerProtect Data Manager, Data Domain, DP Series, Dell Update Packages, or other Dell products. Similarity in vendor or terminology does not establish that their procedures apply to CyberSense Manager.
Verify the result and the original issue
Use the release-specific documentation for authoritative status indicators. Record what you actually observe; an installer success message alone does not establish that the issue is fixed.

Keep the pre-patch and post-patch observations together so the outcome is clear: which target was installed, which checks passed or failed, and whether the symptom was reproduced. If the version is unexpected, services are unhealthy, connectivity fails, or the issue remains, stop short of calling the fix verified and follow Dell’s release-specific recovery guidance or contact Support.
