If you need a large-screen phone on AT&T but can’t use—or don’t want—the iPhone 18 Pro Max, compare the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and Google Pixel 11 Pro XL first. AT&T lists both alongside the Pro Max, with displays close to its 6.9-inch size. If your constraint is specifically the Max size or model and you want to stay with iOS, consider the smaller iPhone 18 Pro. Check the exact phone variant and current purchase terms with AT&T before ordering.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the closest match by listed screen size: AT&T specifies a 6.9-inch display, the same diagonal size it lists for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. It runs Android rather than iOS, and AT&T lists a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. Those are published specifications, not independent performance-test results.

Google Pixel 11 Pro XL
The Pixel 11 Pro XL is another large-screen Android candidate. AT&T lists its display at 6.8 inches and specifies Google Tensor G6 with Titan M3. Its display is slightly smaller by diagonal measurement than the 6.9-inch Galaxy and iPhone, but it remains in the same large-screen class.
AT&T’s comparison lists a starting retail price of $1,349.99, accessed October 4, 2026. As with the Galaxy, treat this as the listed retail price; any lower installment offer has its own eligibility and credit terms. Compare the full amount you would pay under the terms available to your account.

When the iPhone 18 Pro makes more sense
If you want to remain on iOS and the problem is specifically the Pro Max model or its large form factor, AT&T lists the iPhone 18 Pro with a 6.3-inch display in its comparison with the Pixel 11 Pro and Galaxy S26. It is a materially smaller screen than the Pro Max, Galaxy S26 Ultra, or Pixel 11 Pro XL. If your restriction concerns Apple devices, your account, or a fault that may affect more than the Pro Max, do not assume the iPhone 18 Pro will solve it.

Check AT&T compatibility before buying
AT&T lists 5G+ bands for the compared phones and marks HD Voice and Wi-Fi Calling as supported. Its approved-devices document says, “These phones are tested and approved for the AT&T network.” The document also notes that some devices are supported only as AT&T versions or authorized open-market versions. Review AT&T’s approved-device information.
Before ordering an unlocked phone from another retailer, confirm its exact model or variant with AT&T. Matching network bands alone does not guarantee support for every carrier feature or successful provisioning. You can also check AT&T’s Apple device support selector; AT&T lists the iPhone 18 Pro Max there, so the available evidence does not support a claim that AT&T categorically cannot support that phone.

Switching from an iPhone? Check eSIM activation
Apple says US models of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are eSIM-only and names AT&T among the carriers that support eSIM. If you move a line to another iPhone or switch to Android, check AT&T’s activation and eSIM transfer requirements for your line and the specific device. Carrier eSIM support does not establish that every transfer scenario happens automatically. Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max announcement describes the US models and eSIM support.
