The Logitech MX Keys S is a good fit if you want a full-size, low-profile wireless keyboard with backlit keys, a dedicated number pad, and the ability to switch between up to three devices. If you want a smaller keyboard or do not use a number pad, compare it with the MX Keys Mini. Before choosing, check your operating system, connection needs, keyboard layout, and local price.
Which Logitech MX Keys model are you considering?
Logitech’s current product pages describe the MX Keys S as its full-size model and the MX Keys Mini as the compact alternative. The S has an integrated number pad; the Mini does not. That layout difference is the clearest starting point for deciding between them.

These dimensions and weights are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. The S is about 134 mm wider and 304 g heavier than the Mini, so consider whether the number pad earns that extra desk space and travel weight in your setup.

Choose the MX Keys S if you use a number pad
The full-size layout is the more practical choice for frequent spreadsheet work, data entry, or workflows that rely on a dedicated number pad. It also gives you backlit keys and the choice of Bluetooth or the included Logi Bolt receiver.

Consider the MX Keys Mini if space matters more
The Mini is the compact option for a smaller desk or for carrying a keyboard between locations. You give up the dedicated number pad. Logitech says it supports Logi Bolt, but does not include the receiver; Bluetooth is the straightforward wireless option if you do not want to buy a receiver separately.
Do not treat comfort or value as proven by the specifications
Logitech describes the MX Keys S as a low-profile keyboard, but product specifications do not establish whether its typing feel, comfort, speed, or durability will suit you better than another keyboard. “Worth it” depends on your needs and the price in your market; Logitech’s product pages do not establish a current street price.

How does connecting to several devices work?
The MX Keys S connects through Bluetooth Low Energy or its included Logi Bolt receiver and can pair with up to three devices. You can switch between paired devices using the keyboard’s easy-switch controls. Logitech says the MX Keys S is not compatible with other Logitech USB receivers, so do not assume an existing Logitech receiver will work.
The MX Keys Mini also pairs with up to three devices over Bluetooth Low Energy. Logitech describes it as Logi Bolt compatible, but its receiver is not included. Check the connection you plan to use and whether you have an available USB port before choosing a receiver-based setup.

Will it work with your computer or tablet?
Logitech lists MX Keys S support for Windows 10/11 or later and macOS 10.15 or later. It also lists basic functions on Linux, ChromeOS, iPadOS, and Android, with connection- and operating-system-specific qualifications on its compatibility page. Logitech Options+ customization is listed for Windows and macOS; if you rely on remapping or other software features, confirm support for your specific system before buying.
One Mac-specific caveat: Logitech notes that FileVault on some Macs can prevent Bluetooth devices from connecting before login. For that situation, Logitech advises using a compatible Logi Bolt receiver. This matters if you need keyboard access at the login screen rather than only after macOS has loaded.

What should you know about backlighting and charging?
Logitech estimates that a full charge lasts up to 10 days with predefined settings, or up to five months with backlighting off. These are manufacturer estimates, not independent test results, and Logitech cautions that battery life varies with user and computing conditions. If long intervals between charges matter more than illuminated keys, the backlighting-off figure is the relevant estimate; actual runtime may differ.
The MX Keys S charges through USB-C. Logitech lists hand-proximity and ambient-light sensors among its features. The MX Keys S package includes a Logi Bolt receiver; Logitech sells the MX palm rest separately.

- Layout: Choose the MX Keys S if you need a dedicated number pad; choose the Mini if you prefer a compact layout.
- Desk and travel: Compare Logitech’s published dimensions and weights with your available desk space and carrying needs.
- Connection: Decide between Bluetooth and a Logi Bolt receiver, and check your open USB ports if you plan to use a receiver.
- Device switching: Consider whether pairing up to three devices fits your computer-and-tablet setup.
- Software: Check that Logitech Options+ runs on your operating system if you want its listed customization features.
