Open the original decision notice and use the appeal or review option attached to that specific decision. Facebook’s public instructions describe routes for particular content, account, and feature decisions, but do not establish a universal way to reopen a case because automated support closed it.
First, identify which Facebook decision you are challenging
Find the original notice or Support Inbox message. Note its date and any reference number, then identify what the decision concerns. Different situations have different routes, so an option for one type of decision may not apply to another.
- Your own content: Look for the review instructions in the notice about the content decision.
- Content you reported: Check the report’s decision message in Support Inbox for an option to request another review.
- A disabled account: Follow the login and on-screen appeal instructions only if they match the notice and issue.
- A feature-specific decision: Use that feature’s own process, such as the form for certain rejected Marketplace listings.
- A copyright matter: Follow the instructions in the copyright notice; copyright procedures are distinct from a general Community Standards appeal.
Do not assume that a closed support case, by itself, creates a new appeal route. Facebook’s published instructions vary by decision type.
If you reported someone else’s content, check Support Inbox
Facebook documents a specific route for asking for another review of a decision about content you reported. Open Facebook, then go to Profile menu > Help and support > Support Inbox > Reports about others. Open the decision message and select See options. If Request another review appears, select it and follow the on-screen instructions. Facebook says this second review usually happens within 24 hours; that is guidance for this route, not a guarantee for other cases. Some report types do not offer the option. Facebook’s instructions for disagreeing with a decision about reported content explain this process.

For your own content, complete Facebook’s review process first
Use the appeal or request-review option shown in the original notice for a decision about your own content. An Oversight Board appeal is not a substitute for Facebook’s internal review: Facebook says the relevant content must have been reviewed twice before a decision may be eligible for that escalation. Its guidance states, “Before you can appeal Facebook’s content decision to the Oversight Board, you must first go through the request a review process on your content or on the content that you reported.” See Facebook’s Oversight Board eligibility and appeal instructions.
Check whether an Oversight Board appeal is available
After the required internal review, some content decisions may qualify for the Oversight Board. Not every decision is eligible, and the Board selects only some eligible appeals. Facebook gives a deadline of 15 days from the decision date to appeal, so check eligibility promptly. That deadline applies to an Oversight Board appeal, not to every Facebook appeal.

Use account and feature-specific routes only for the decisions they cover
Disabled account in a copyright-related case
Facebook’s copyright-removal guidance says that if an account has been disabled, an appeal can be submitted by logging in and following the on-screen instructions. This guidance concerns copyright-related removal; it does not establish the same route for every account restriction. If you are unsure which copyright procedure applies, Facebook advises seeking legal advice. Read Facebook’s copyright-removal guidance.
Rejected Marketplace listing
For certain unapproved Marketplace listings, Facebook provides a form to ask for another look at the listing. The guidance says to check the listing again in about 24 hours. This is a Marketplace-specific process, not a general appeal form for a closed support case. See Facebook’s Marketplace listing appeal instructions.

If no appeal option is shown, return to the original decision notice and the relevant issue-specific section of Support Inbox. Use a visible case-status or reference-number path if Facebook supplied one. The public instructions do not establish a general appeal address or universal reopen button for cases closed by automated support, and they do not guarantee a human response or that a case will be reopened.
Active creators with a Meta Verified subscription may have access to chat or email support for account and subscription issues. Facebook does not describe this as a universal way to reopen a closed appeal, and a subscription is not required by the appeal routes above. See Meta Verified creator support details.

Be cautious of third-party services promising guaranteed reinstatement or asking for your password, authentication codes, or payment to bypass Facebook’s process. The Facebook routes described here do not require sharing those credentials with an outside service.
