Use the same New York Times account on each device
NYT Games material recommends signing in to a New York Times account to play Wordle across devices while retaining progress. Start with the device that shows the correct streak: identify the account currently signed in, and keep that information before changing accounts or clearing browser data. Then sign in to that exact account on each other device. The NYT Games material describes Wordle progress and statistics as linked to the account.
Sign in to the Games app
The sign-in path depends on your device, according to the official New York Times Games app help page.
- iPhone or iPad: Open the app and tap Me to sign in.
- Android: Open the app menu and choose the sign-in option.
On a browser or another device, use the official NYT Wordle platform and sign in with the same New York Times account.

Check the Wordle stats and streak in the app
- Open the NYT Games app and go to Me.
- Find the Wordle game card and expand it.
- Review the stats and streak shown for the signed-in account, then compare them with the other device.
The help page documents this view of Wordle stats and streaks; it does not describe a separate control for forcing a sync.
If the streaks still differ
- Check the account shown on both devices. A different signed-in account is the first thing to rule out.
- Confirm that you are using an official NYT Wordle platform on each device.
- If the discrepancy remains, use the Games app support controls or contact NYT support. NYT’s Crossword help guidance recommends checking the account and reporting unresolved statistics problems. That advice concerns Crossword, so it is not a Wordle-specific restoration procedure or a guarantee that a missing streak can be recovered.
What account syncing does—and does not—establish
The available NYT Games material supports linking Wordle progress and statistics to an account and using that account across devices. It does not establish that an unfinished puzzle board or each guess syncs immediately. If you are switching devices mid-puzzle, do not assume the in-progress board will be waiting on the other one.
