It can show up to four camera views in the Home tab, lets you swipe to more, and opens live video when you tap a camera. Apple also offers a Home widget for an at-a-glance look at the home, but its published information does not establish that the native widget shows camera previews or live feeds.
There is also a separate third-party app called Home Widget for HomeKit, which advertises a camera mosaic. It is not the same thing as Apple’s native Home widget, and its features depend on the app version and device.
At a glance: which option fits your needs?

| Open live video and browse several cameras | Apple Home app | Apple documents up to four camera views in the Home tab, swipe navigation to additional cameras, and live video after tapping a camera tile. Apple iPhone User Guide and Apple camera guide. |

| Review recorded motion clips | Apple Home app with an eligible HomeKit Secure Video camera | Apple documents recorded-clip browsing in Home for supported cameras configured to record; recording requires iCloud+. Apple camera guide. |
What “Home Widget” can mean
Apple’s native Home widget
Apple says its Lock Screen widget offers “an at-a-glance look” at the home, and also describes quick access to the Home app through Control Center. That wording supports a general home-control or status use, not a claim that the widget displays camera video. Apple’s widget setup instructions explain how to add widgets but do not specify the camera content of the native Home widget.
So if your question is “Can I see a live HomeKit camera feed on Apple’s Home Lock Screen widget?”, the cited Apple documentation does not confirm that. Use the Home app when you need a documented camera view.

The third-party Home Widget for HomeKit app
This is a separate app, not an Apple Home feature. Its App Store listing advertises a camera mosaic and says live streams in that mosaic are optional and off by default. Treat this as an app-specific capability: verify its current release, supported devices, operating-system requirements, and behavior in the widget context you plan to use before relying on it.
How to check cameras in Apple Home
- Open the Home app and go to the Home tab. Camera tiles appear under the Cameras heading when you have compatible cameras set up.
- Browse the camera tiles. Apple says video from up to four cameras can appear in the Cameras section at once; swipe to see additional cameras.
- Tap a camera tile to open video. Apple says live playback should start automatically for an Apple Home-compatible camera.
- For recorded activity, open a supported recording camera. If it is a HomeKit Secure Video camera configured to record, you can browse its timeline and select a clip, then return to live viewing.
The Home tab may also organize accessories by category, room, and Favorites, so camera access sits within the broader Home app rather than a camera-only screen.

Live viewing, recorded clips, and requirements
Apple Home compatibility is what allows a camera to stream in the Home app. HomeKit Secure Video is an additional capability for recording and reviewing activity; not every Apple Home-compatible camera necessarily supports it. Check the exact camera model’s compatibility and feature list before buying or setting up a recording workflow.
Apple describes HomeKit Secure Video footage as encrypted and processed through a home hub, with recordings uploaded to iCloud. Apple’s cited guide says iCloud+ enables review of the last 10 days of activity. The guide lists the following camera capacities by plan:
