The story begins in July 2029, after Sotoa invades the Federation of Central Usea (FCU) and occupies its capital, Theve. The official synopsis says the player is rescued by the Endurance and takes on the fabricated “Wings of Theve” legend, intended to sustain morale. Bandai Namco’s game page provides that setting and story context.

Does the campaign branch into different mission routes?
KeenGamer’s guide describes the campaign as having no branching mission paths. That is a third-party guide’s account, not an official publisher flowchart. The operation name “Branching Path” belongs to Mission 18 in that list; it does not, by itself, show that the campaign splits into routes.

Mission-level choices are different
Players can have tactical freedom inside a sortie without changing the campaign’s mission order. In its Mission 7 feature, PlayStation describes choosing which targets to attack and when to return to rearm. Producer Manabu Shimomoto says the mission category reflects “the player’s ability to eliminate enemies based on their own judgment.” That statement concerns target selection during a mission, not a branching story path.

The available mission guide describes a linear route, but the sources available here do not establish whether player choices alter the ending. Bandai Namco’s launch announcement says decisions shape the FCU’s fate, but it does not give an ending count, a set of ending conditions, or descriptions of alternate endings. That promotional statement is not enough to confirm multiple endings—or to prove there is only one.

For now, the defensible answer is that the documented campaign order is linear; alternate endings are unverified by these sources.
