1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIf you mainly want to play Grand Theft Auto VI, choose Standard. On the US Xbox Store, it is listed at $79.99, compared with $99.99 for Ultimate. Because Rockstar lets Standard owners buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade later, you can wait to decide whether the extras are worth the difference. Just note that the physical Standard edition is a download code in a box—not a disc.
What do the GTA 6 editions include?
Rockstar lists two editions. Standard includes Grand Theft Auto VI. Ultimate includes the game plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade: a collection of in-game items, locations, styles, vehicles, and activities threaded through Jason and Lucia’s story. Rockstar says new items are uncovered behind each chapter.

How much do Standard and Ultimate cost?
The following are prices on the US Xbox storefront, accessed October 3, 2026. They are storefront prices, not a guarantee of the price in another country or on another platform.
#1 Best Overall
- STUNNING VISUALS — Enhanced levels of fidelity and performance with new graphics modes featuring up to 4K resolution, up to 60 frames per second, HDR options, ray tracing, improved texture quality, and more
- FASTER LOADING — Quicker access to the action as the world of Los Santos and Blaine County load in faster than ever before.
- ADAPTIVE TRIGGERS AND HAPTIC FEEDBACK — Feel every moment through the DualSense controller, from directional damage to weather effects, rough road surfaces to explosions, and more.
- TEMPEST 3D AUDIO — Hear the sounds of the world with pinpoint precision: the throttle of a stolen supercar, the rattle of neighbouring gunfire, the roar of a helicopter overhead, and more.
- Please note that although this game is Region Free or Region Unlocked and will work on all systems, this is the European version and may differ from the local version in age rating, labeling or instructions.
| Option | US Xbox price | What it gets you |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | $79.99 | Grand Theft Auto VI |
| Ultimate Edition | $99.99 | Grand Theft Auto VI and the Ultimate Edition Upgrade |
| Ultimate Edition Upgrade | $20.00 | The Ultimate extras for Standard owners |
On that storefront, the upgrade price matches the $20 difference between buying Standard and Ultimate upfront. Rockstar Support says Standard owners can buy the upgrade separately after redeeming their game code, including buyers of the physical code-in-box version. If you are unsure about the extras, that makes Standard-first a practical option. Check the current listing in your local PlayStation or Xbox store before buying; prices and upgrade availability may differ.
Are GTA 6 preorder bonuses exclusive to Ultimate?
No. Rockstar Support says digital preorders and purchases of either edition made before November 20, 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+, subject to platform and store terms. The pack includes a ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. These shared preorder benefits are not, by themselves, a reason to pay for Ultimate.

- Good product for use
Physical preorders include a code for the game and Vintage Vice City Pack. Rockstar’s description of the physical version does not include the digital one-month GTA+ offer. The US Xbox listing specifies a purchase cutoff of November 19, 2026 at 23:59:59 and says the GTA+ month must be redeemed within 180 days after placing the preorder. Confirm the conditions on the store where you plan to buy.
Does the physical GTA 6 edition come with a disc?
No. Rockstar says the physical box contains a download code and no disc. Physical Standard is therefore packaging plus a code to redeem for the digital game, not a disc-based copy. Rockstar lists the physical Ultimate Edition as unavailable. A physical Standard buyer can purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade through PlayStation or Microsoft after redeeming the code.

Rockstar advises buying from a retailer in the country associated with your platform account to avoid activation problems. PlayStation code regions are restricted; Rockstar says Xbox codes are not region-locked. Check the retailer’s terms and your account region before purchasing.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which GTA 6 edition should you buy?
- Choose Standard if your priority is the base game or the Ultimate item list does not include anything you particularly want.
- Choose Ultimate upfront if the listed vehicles, weapon variants, styles, places, and activities are worth the US Xbox storefront’s $20 premium to you and you want them included immediately.
- Choose Standard and decide later if you are uncertain. Rockstar permits a later upgrade after code redemption; the US Xbox listing showed it at $20 on October 3, 2026.
- If buying physical, treat the Standard box as a download code rather than a disc, and check region compatibility and retailer terms.
- When comparing preorder offers, distinguish the benefits available with either edition from the Ultimate-only additions, and check your store’s deadline and redemption conditions.
Rockstar lists preorders for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Xbox listing showed November 19, 2026 as the release date; verify the current date and availability on your platform’s official store.
