It adds New Game+, Photo Mode, a “00” difficulty, two TacSim activities, weapons and outfits, plus more than 700 fixes and improvements. New Game+ and “00” difficulty unlock after you complete the entire campaign; an IOI Account is optional for playing, though linking one by November 1, 2026 unlocks the Grey Standard outfit.
What’s in the free 007 First Light update?
IO Interactive describes Extended Operations as the game’s first major free DLC. Its October 1, 2026 patch notes list these additions and changes: Update 1.3.0 patch notes.
- New Game+: Replay the campaign with a Suit Loadout and more flexibility to change outfits and gadgets.
- “00” difficulty: A tougher setting where enemies spot you sooner and hit harder, while gadget resources restore only a fraction of their use.
- Photo Mode: Pause the action to compose images with camera settings, overlays, filters, visual effects and poses.
- TacSim activities: Valhalla Protocol and Jungle Heist.
- TacSim gear: Storm 12 Gauge and Squire Marksman Rifle weapons, plus Observant Spy, Leisure Beam and First Class outfits. The patch notes say the outfits are unlocked by default.
- Polish and fixes: Improved weapon-handling animations and over 700 fixes and improvements, including work on crashes, progression blockers, clipping, audio, localization and UI.
What are the new TacSim activities?
Valhalla Protocol is an open-road activity in Slovakia that puts you in the Aston Martin Valhalla, equipped with machine guns and missile launchers. Jungle Heist returns to The Pearl Hotel in Vietnam for a variable attempt to retrieve documents.
How do I get New Game+ and “00” difficulty?
Complete the entire Campaign first. The same campaign-completion requirement applies to both New Game+ and “00” difficulty.

New Game+ loadouts and checkpoints
In New Game+, use the journal to change outfits and restart from a chosen checkpoint. You can switch gadgets during missions, but only gadgets you have already unlocked at that point in the story are available.
Do I need an IOI Account?
No. IO Interactive Player Support says, “An IOI Account is not required to play 007 First Light.” A one-time internet connection is required to download the Day 1 patch; after that, the full main campaign can be played offline. Some rewards do require an account. See the editions and launch FAQ.

How to claim the Grey Standard outfit
- Connect the game to an IOI Account by November 1, 2026.
- Once linked, the Grey Standard outfit is the account reward listed in the update notes.
This is an optional reward requirement, not a condition for playing the game.
How big is the update download?
IO Interactive lists these Update 1.3.0 download sizes by platform. They are the publisher’s figures for this patch; the actual download or installed space may vary with the platform’s state.
