If a cross-chain swap seems stuck, first check whether the transaction confirmed on the source chain. Then use the initiating service’s tracker to see whether the bridge or destination step is still processing. Don’t submit the swap again while the source transaction is pending: Phantom warns that retrying can create a duplicate. A confirmed source transaction alone does not prove that tokens arrived on the destination chain.
First, identify which part of the swap is delayed
A cross-chain swap usually has three stages: the transaction on the source chain, processing by a bridge or route provider, and delivery or a final swap on the destination chain. These stages can have separate status indicators. A source-chain confirmation means that source transaction was confirmed; it is not proof that the destination leg completed.
- Source transaction pending: The sending transaction has not yet confirmed on its chain.
- Bridge processing: The source transaction confirmed, but the bridge or route has not reported destination delivery.
- Destination display issue: The destination transaction may have arrived, but the wallet is showing a different network or does not support displaying the received token.
- Route failure or recovery: A step failed, and the provider may refund an asset, retry on the destination, or leave an intermediate token for you to use.
Use the status shown by the service that initiated the swap. A countdown or a transaction hash by itself does not establish that the destination funds have arrived.
Check the swap safely, in order
1. Save the transaction details
Open the originating wallet or swap interface’s activity or history and record the source transaction hash or signature, source and destination networks, sending and receiving addresses, token symbols, amount, and approximate time. Save a screenshot of the displayed status. Keep these details together in case you need provider support.

2. Check the source transaction
Open the hash or signature in the official explorer for the source chain. If it is pending or has not confirmed, wait rather than starting the swap again. Phantom classifies an unconfirmed source transaction as a wait state and cautions that retrying may create a duplicate. Circle’s USDC Bridge guidance similarly recommends checking whether confirmations are progressing.
3. If the source confirmed, check the initiating service’s bridge tracker
Use the status link in the original swap interface, or the official tracker named by that service. The tracker depends on the route: Uniswap directs users to the activity tab and the Across explorer for its supported flow, while Phantom directs users to LI.FI Scan for its flow. Do not substitute a tracker for a different provider and assume it has the full status.

Do not treat an estimate or countdown as a deadline. Phantom says its displayed estimate reflects bridge processing rather than underlying blockchain confirmation time, and a swap can take longer than the countdown. Uniswap Labs Support said in troubleshooting guidance updated February 24, 2026, that most cross-chain swaps on its service complete within a few minutes; that is a service-specific statement, not a general benchmark for other routes.
4. Verify the destination chain and token
Check the destination chain’s official explorer for an arrival transaction, then confirm that the wallet is viewing the intended network and can display the received token. Uniswap’s guidance notes that its interface may show a completed state before the destination arrival is visible while bridging is still processing. If the source transaction confirmed but no destination transaction appears, preserve the history and status screenshot; Phantom advises against resetting the wallet, which will not recover an absent destination leg.

How to read failure and recovery statuses
A route can include swaps before or after the bridge, so recovery may involve a different asset from the token you initially sent. For example, 0x documents that a route wrapping ETH to WETH before bridging may return WETH, while a route that first swaps ETH to USDC may return USDC. Verify the recovery chain, token, and settled amount in the provider’s status details before taking action.

Recovery actions differ even when two interfaces use similar words such as “failed” or “retry.” Follow only instructions shown by the service that handled the exact route, and verify the asset and chain before signing a recovery transaction.

When and how to contact official support
Contact the provider if the source transaction confirmed but the route remains stalled or failed according to that provider’s criteria, or if its tracker does not explain where the funds are. Timelines are service-specific: Phantom says to contact its support when a cross-chain swap is stalled or failed for more than an hour, while Circle says to contact Customer Care when a delay exceeds the expected time for the destination chain. Neither threshold is a universal bridge timeout.
Reach support through the wallet or protocol’s official website or app. Phantom says it cannot reverse or force a bridge transaction, though it can escalate an issue to the provider. Include the information that applies to your case:

- Source transaction hash or signature and a status screenshot.
- Sending and receiving wallet addresses, source and destination networks, token, and amount.
- Approximate date and time, plus the provider’s status or error.
- For Circle USDC Bridge web cases, the provider and version, browser, operating system, and device details.
Never share a seed phrase or private key with anyone claiming to recover a bridge transfer. Phantom also warns against interacting with unfamiliar token links or claim instructions.
