Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteOn PS5, highlight The Witcher 3 on the home screen or in your game list, press the controller’s Options button, select Check for Update, then follow the prompts if an update is available. CD PROJEKT RED calls the current release Patch 5.00b; the association between that patch and the numeric PS5 build 5.000.200 is reported by players, not confirmed in the publisher’s announcement.
Install the update on PS5
- Connect the PS5 to the internet and confirm that the PS5 edition of The Witcher 3 is installed.
- Highlight the game tile, press the controller’s Options button, then choose Check for Update. PlayStation’s instructions are available at How to check for updates on PS5 consoles and PS4 consoles.
- If an update is found, follow the on-screen instructions and allow the download and installation to finish before launching the game.
- Start the game and check its displayed version or build information, if the game or console interface exposes it. Compare the displayed game build with the target for the installed PS5 title.
PlayStation says games and apps update automatically when started, to the newest version available. The manual check is useful when you want to request an update directly or confirm whether one is available.
What do “Patch 5.00b” and “5.000.200” mean?
CD PROJEKT RED’s announcement, dated 1 October 2026, names the release Patch 5.00b and says it is live for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC Xbox Play Anywhere version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. A recent PS5 player report identifies the Remastered build as v5.000.200. The official announcement does not print that numeric string, so treat the two labels as a reported correspondence rather than an official version-table confirmation. Read the publisher’s Patch 5.00b announcement.
Changes announced for the release
The publisher describes lighting adjustments, including fixes for some interiors that appeared too dark, and other adjustments intended to ensure parity with the PC version. The announcement’s DLSS fix is specifically for the PC Xbox Play Anywhere version; it is not identified as a PS5 change.

Verify the game build—not the PS5 system software
Look for version or build information provided by the game or console interface, if available. The official materials cited here do not establish a specific in-game menu path for finding 5.000.200, so do not rely on an invented menu route. A PS5 system-software version shown in the console’s information screens identifies the console software, not the installed Witcher 3 build.
If the update does not appear or installation fails
Try PlayStation’s troubleshooting sequence:
- Test the console’s network connection.
- Restart the PS5, then check for the game update again.
- Make sure the PS5 system software is current.
- If needed, reinstall the game.
- As a further troubleshooting option, use Safe Mode’s Clear Cache and Rebuild Database function.
CD PROJEKT RED’s PlayStation technical support index also lists installation and update help.

PS4 uses a similar update route: highlight the game, press OPTIONS, choose Check for Update, and follow the prompts. The 5.000.200 build evidence described above is a PS5 player report; it does not establish that this build applies to PS4.
CD PROJEKT RED’s Remastered release announcement, dated 29 September 2026, describes the game as available on PS5 and the release as a free upgrade for owners. The version visible in your PS5 library or store listing is the practical way to check what your account can install; entitlements can depend on the edition and account.
