The Panasonic DMR-4X1010 is specified for Japanese television services and AC100V power. Panasonic’s published specifications do not establish that it will receive broadcasts outside Japan, accept other mains voltages, or play Blu-ray and DVD discs from every region. If you plan to use it internationally, verify those points with Panasonic for your country and intended discs before buying or connecting it.

Will the DMR-4X1010 receive TV broadcasts outside Japan?

Do not assume so. Panasonic lists Japanese terrestrial digital, Japanese BS/CS satellite digital, and BS/CS 4K satellite broadcasting. The tuner specifications do not list foreign broadcast standards. Its terrestrial-input channel ranges—VHF 1–12, UHF 13–62, and CATV C13–C63 pass-through—are part of the Japan-facing specification, not evidence that it can tune local channels elsewhere. Panasonic’s DMR-4X1010 specifications identify 11 tuners across the listed Japanese services.

For a country outside Japan, ask Panasonic whether the tuner supports the local terrestrial and satellite standards and services. A compatible connection to a television does not establish that the recorder can receive local broadcasts.

Can I use it on my country’s power supply?

Panasonic specifies AC100V, 50/60Hz, and approximately 54 W power consumption. The published specification does not give a wider input-voltage range. If your mains voltage differs from 100V, confirm the recorder’s requirements with Panasonic before connecting it and follow local electrical requirements. A plug adapter changes plug shape; it does not convert voltage.

These are manufacturer specifications for the stated settings, not independent measurements. See the full power and operating-condition specifications.

Does “NTSC” mean it plays my Blu-ray or DVD discs?

No. Panasonic lists NTSC as the video signal system, but that does not establish the disc region codes the DMR-4X1010 can play. The cited specifications do not state Blu-ray or DVD region codes, so they do not confirm region-free playback or playback of discs bought in another region. Check with Panasonic for the exact model and the discs you intend to use.

Supported recording and playback can depend on disc format, recording mode, and the instructions for the disc and device; these listings do not guarantee compatibility with every disc or recording made by another recorder. Check Panasonic’s media-format details.

What should I compare with a recorder sold locally?

Use these checks before choosing a Japan-market recorder for use in another country:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Broadcast standards: Confirm support for the local terrestrial and satellite services you want to record.
  • Mains requirements: Compare the rated voltage and frequency with your supply; do not infer a voltage range that Panasonic has not specified.
  • Disc playback: Confirm Blu-ray and DVD region compatibility separately from the NTSC video-system entry.
  • Connections: The specification lists two HDMI AV outputs, three USB ports (one USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0), wired LAN, and built-in wireless LAN. Check that the connections meet your setup; their presence does not establish compatibility with every TV, service, or external drive.
  • Local support and availability: Confirm that the model is sold or supported in your market and that Panasonic can answer country-specific compatibility questions.
