For clear, balanced stereo, start with speakers placed symmetrically around your main listening seat, connect each channel with matching positive and negative polarity, and configure the receiver according to its own manual. Then run any model-specific room calibration and make small, one-at-a-time listening adjustments.
1. Check your receiver and speaker manuals
Before connecting anything, identify the receiver and speaker models. Check the manuals for the receiver’s speaker terminals, supported speaker impedance, any impedance selector or menu, and whether it has automatic calibration. These details differ by model; do not carry a setting from one receiver to another.
Power the receiver off before connecting or disconnecting speaker cables. Use speaker wire suitable for your equipment and make sure the stripped conductors are prepared as the receiver manual specifies. Denon’s connection guidance warns that exposed cable cores touching one another or another conductive surface can cause protection behavior on the documented receiver; consult your own receiver’s manual for its specific safeguards and response. Denon AVR-X3800H speaker connection instructions.
2. Place the left and right speakers
Begin with the speakers facing the listening area and arranged symmetrically around the main seat. Aim for similar distances from each speaker to that seat. Equal-distance placement is a useful starting point, not a universal room-acoustics formula: room shape, furniture and speaker design can affect the result. Denon’s installation guidance supports equal-distance placement, while specialized models may have their own placement recommendations. Denon installation guidance.

- Amplify and enjoy your home audio experience in the comfort of your home.Frequency band : 2,400 MHz – 2,483.5 MHz, Maximum output power : ≤ 5.0 dBm..Connector Type: Bluetooth
- 100 watts x 2 (8 ohms, 1 Kilo Hertz). Speaker impedance - 6–16 ohms
- Phono input, 4 stereo RCA audio inputs, 3.5 millimeter input, stereo RCA output
- Built in Bluetooth lets you wirelessly stream your favorite music service, podcasts, and more from other Bluetooth devices.
- Connect up to 4 speakers; A/B switching to play all at once, or in separate zones
Use familiar music with a centered vocal and steady bass. Move speakers in small increments, changing one position or angle at a time, and compare how stable the center image sounds and how consistent the bass is from your usual seat. Polk’s placement advice for the Legend L800 is product-specific; do not assume its instructions apply to ordinary stereo speakers. Polk Legend L800 owner’s manual.
3. Connect each speaker with matching polarity
- Connect the receiver’s left speaker output to the left speaker, and its right output to the right speaker.
- Match positive (+) at the receiver to positive (+) at the speaker, and negative (−) to negative (−), for both channels. Follow the markings on your equipment and cable.
- Check that the conductors are firmly held and that no loose strands bridge the positive and negative terminals or touch another terminal or the receiver chassis.
Polk notes that reversed polarity can make its L800 speakers sound thin, reduce bass, and weaken or remove the apparent center image. Those symptoms can suggest a wiring problem, but they are not proof of one. Polk Legend L800 owner’s manual.

4. Set impedance only as your receiver directs
Compare the speaker’s impedance rating with the receiver’s requirements, then follow the receiver manual for any selector or menu setting. Yamaha’s RX300A Owner’s Manual says, “Set according to the impedance of the connected speakers.” Its settings apply to that receiver and market, not to other models. If you cannot confirm the correct setting for your equipment, do not guess; consult both manuals. Yamaha RX300A Owner’s Manual.
5. Run available room calibration
If your receiver offers automatic room correction, use the supplied microphone and follow the on-screen prompts and manual. Microphone position and the number of measurement points are system-specific. Yamaha’s RX300A documentation describes measurements including speaker connection, distance, level, frequency and phase. For Audyssey on the Denon AVR-X3800H, the manual recommends six or more measurement positions, up to eight, with later positions within 60 cm of the main listening position. This is guidance for that receiver’s Audyssey procedure, not a general rule for stereo receivers. Place the microphone as that manual directs and use positions around the intended listening area. - 1000 Watt PEAK POWER: Donner stereo receiver provides a 1000W peak power (25W × 6 RMS power) and simplified appearance to level up your audio experience. 6 Channels can be independently controlled and support up to 6 groups of 12 speakers with 4 - 16 ohms
- MULTIFUNCTION REMOTE: Without the limitation of a single function, our amplifier home audio comes with an upgraded remote control that can use the setting functions of treble/ midrange/ bass/ echo/Talkover in any input mode ( battery is not included )
- MULTI-INPUT MODES: The audio receiver supports various sound source inputs, including Bluetooth 5.3, USB (up to 64 GB), 2 pairs of RCA, 2 mic inputs, AUX IN, and FM radio. In addition, digital Optical fiber and coaxial interfaces have been added to fit most smart TVs (No HDMI input)
- UPGRADED FM FUNCTION: You can quickly select the FM frequency you prefer by entering the numbers, making FM searching more convenient
- CUSTOMIZED EQ CONTROL: Both the amplifier and the remote can independently control the treble, midrange, and bass adjustment, so you can set the sound as you like. Donner MAMP6 can automatically save the mode selection, volume, and EQ settings you set, so you don’t need to adjust again after the next startup
- Thin sound, weak bass or an unstable center image: Turn the receiver off and verify polarity at both ends of both speaker cables. Also check that left and right are connected to their corresponding speakers.
- Protection activates or a channel cuts out: Power down and inspect for loose strands or conductors touching. The documented Denon model warns that a short can activate protection; behavior varies by receiver, so refer to its manual.
- The result changes noticeably by seat: Recheck speaker symmetry. If your receiver has room correction, use its prescribed microphone procedure; correction measured at one position should not be assumed to optimize every seat.
- You are unsure about impedance: Stop and check the speaker and receiver manuals rather than copying another model’s setting.
