To save an application page as a PDF, open it in a browser and use that browser’s print function, then select a PDF destination and check the saved file. On desktop, Microsoft Edge documents this workflow; iPhone Safari and Firefox for Android also have documented ways to save webpages as PDFs. If you only need offline reading—not a portable PDF—Chrome can download a webpage for offline access.
Save an application page as a PDF on a computer
In desktop Microsoft Edge, open the website or web app document you want to save. Open Settings and more > Print, or press Ctrl+P on Windows or Command+P on Mac. Review the print preview and settings, choose a PDF destination, and save the file. See Microsoft’s instructions for printing in Edge; labels and dialogs can vary by operating system and browser version.
- Open the relevant application page and, if needed, sign in and navigate to the specific content.
- Choose Settings and more > Print or use the keyboard shortcut.
- Inspect the preview for missing sections, awkward page breaks, or absent visual styling.
- Select a PDF destination in the print interface. If the option is not visible, use the system print dialog where available.
- Save the PDF in a location you can find again, then open it to confirm the expected content is present.
Improve the print preview
If the page relies on colored backgrounds or background images, check whether the print dialog has a Background graphics setting and enable it if appropriate. Edge also documents printing supported websites in Immersive Reader for a less cluttered result, and printing selected content: highlight the content, open its context menu, and choose Print. These options depend on the page and browser interface.
Save a webpage as a PDF on a phone
iPhone: Safari
Apple documents a Safari workflow on iPhone for annotating and saving a webpage as a PDF. Follow the current sequence in Apple’s iPhone guide, since mobile controls can change between iOS versions.

Firefox for Android documents saving web pages as PDFs. Use Mozilla’s current instructions for the menu sequence available in your version of Firefox.
When an offline webpage is enough
If you need to read a page later but do not need a PDF file, Chrome’s webpage download feature may meet the need. Google documents downloading pages for offline reading in Chrome at its offline page instructions. An offline webpage stays within Chrome’s download workflow; a PDF is a portable document you can name, file, print, or share.

Check completeness and protect private information
A print-to-PDF file captures the page as rendered for printing; it is not guaranteed to preserve every interactive control, form state, dynamic result, or authenticated detail. Check both the preview and the saved PDF, especially if the page changes after loading or contains information behind a sign-in.
Application pages may contain personal or confidential information. Save the file somewhere controlled and consider carefully before sharing it. Microsoft says Edge sends print commands and file information to the device operating system when printing to a printer, application, or PDF; that statement does not establish that every browser or PDF workflow is local or cloud-free. Troubleshooting
- Backgrounds or visual styling are missing: compare the print preview with the page and look for a background-graphics option in the print dialog. Edge documents this setting in its printing guidance.
- The PDF includes too much: if using Edge and the page supports it, select only the content you need and print the selection from the context menu.
- The preview omits application data: wait for the page to finish loading, verify that you are signed in, and check whether the information appears in the preview before saving. Interactive or dynamic content may not carry over as expected.
- You cannot find the PDF: check the destination and filename shown in the save dialog, then open that location to verify the file exists.
- You only need to read offline: use Chrome’s documented page-download workflow instead of creating a PDF if a portable document is unnecessary.
