Sonic Origins Plus is the most direct way to play a selection of classic Sonic games on modern consoles and PC. It includes four core early games, while the Plus edition adds 12 Game Gear titles and extra playable characters. Check your platform’s regional store for the exact edition before buying.
Which classic Sonic games are included?
Sonic Origins bundles four early games: Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD. SEGA’s official product page describes digital and premium physical editions.
Sonic Origins Plus adds 12 Game Gear Sonic titles, including Sonic Drift 2, Sonic & Tails 2, and Tails Adventure. It also makes Amy Rose playable in the four main games and adds Knuckles to Sonic CD. The Nintendo Switch listing provides a platform-specific edition reference.
Which modern platforms can you use?
SEGA lists Sonic Origins Plus for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. Official PlayStation and Nintendo pages also list Sonic Origins editions. See SEGA’s platform information, the PlayStation Store listing, the Nintendo eShop listing, and Steam’s listing. Storefronts vary by region, and listings or stock can change, so confirm that the edition is available for your console and account region.

Both digital and premium physical editions are described on SEGA’s product page, but that does not establish current retailer inventory. Check your regional storefront or retailer for current availability and price rather than relying on an old listing.
Are other modern Sonic games classic games?
Sonic Mania Plus is a separate classic-style game, not a collection of the original four titles. SEGA lists it for PS4 and Nintendo Switch on its official product page.
