Short answer: no published information yet guarantees smooth play on any phone. The best available reference is the Closed Beta Test 3 (CBT3) entry threshold: iPhone XR or newer running iOS 17 or later, or an Android phone with Snapdragon 845 or newer running Android 12 or later. That was a closed-test requirement, not a final launch specification or performance promise. As of October 4, 2026, the game has not launched; Capcom has announced an October 29 release for iOS and Android.
What the published requirements do—and do not—tell you
TiMi Studio Group’s July 2, 2026 CBT3 announcement gave these device thresholds for that test:
- iPhone: iPhone XR or newer, with iOS 17 or newer.
- Android: Snapdragon 845 or newer, with Android 12.0 or newer.
TiMi also said it was still optimizing performance and evaluating supported devices ahead of launch. Meeting or exceeding the CBT3 threshold therefore does not guarantee smooth play in the public release. Falling below it means only that the phone was outside the stated CBT3 environment; it does not by itself prove that the launch game will be incompatible.
Capcom’s September 29, 2026 release announcement describes Monster Hunter Outlanders as a free-to-play survival hunting action game for iOS and Android, with in-app purchases, scheduled for October 29, 2026. That date is still in the future as of October 4.

Check your phone against the CBT3 reference
- Find the exact model and OS version. On iPhone, check Settings > General > About for the model name and iOS version. On Android, check Settings > About phone (the exact label varies by manufacturer) for the model and Android version.
- Identify the Android chipset. Compare the processor with Snapdragon 845, rather than judging by phone age or a broad marketing label. If Settings does not name the chipset, consult the phone maker’s specifications for the exact model.
- Use the beta threshold only as a rough reference. Compare an iPhone with iPhone XR and iOS 17, or an Android phone with Snapdragon 845 and Android 12. These are CBT3 conditions, not settled public-release requirements.
- Check the local store listing close to installation. Confirm that the App Store or Google Play listing allows installation on your exact device, and review its current OS and download/storage information. Store eligibility indicates that installation is allowed; it does not establish frame rate, heat, or stability during extended play.
Why store compatibility and smooth performance are different
The Philippines App Store listing observed on October 3, 2026 shows iOS 15.0 compatibility and an app size of 3.7 GB. Those are regional listing details, not a performance result. The iOS 15 store field and the CBT3 iOS 17 threshold refer to different things: the former is the listing’s compatibility field, while the latter was the admission environment for a particular closed test. Check the listing for your region again near release, since store information may differ or change.
Neither the listed download size nor a successful installation tells you whether a phone will maintain responsive, consistent performance during a long hunt. The published sources do not provide a final launch minimum or recommended specification table, an Android RAM minimum, a device-by-device support list, a target frame rate, or measurements of sustained heat and performance.

What counts as evidence that a phone runs smoothly?
Once the public version is available, look for tests or reports that identify the exact phone and chipset, game version, graphics settings, length of the play session, and observed performance. A game opening successfully is not the same as sustained smooth play: extended action can expose frame drops or heat that a brief launch test will not reveal.
No launch-build measurements for specific phones are established in the cited sources as of October 4, 2026. Until such evidence exists, it is not possible to responsibly rank phones or recommend an upgrade for Outlanders on the basis of smoothness.
