For a practical starting point, use Halo Support’s competitive PC baseline: Low graphics preset, 100° field of view, VSync off, and reduced visual effects. Then tune resolution scale and the minimum frame-rate target to suit your PC. These settings are not a guaranteed FPS boost or universal best configuration; Halo Support recommends adjusting them for your hardware and preferences.

Official competitive settings to start with

Halo Support’s competitive settings are a baseline, not a promise of a particular frame rate. Use the values below as a first pass, then change one or two settings at a time so you can judge the effect.

Setting Starting value
Field of View 100° (the general settings guide lists 78° as the default)
Blur, Screen Shake, Exposure, Full Screen Effects 0%
Speed Lines Disabled
Sharpening 60%
Brightness Start at default 0; adjust in Screen Calibration to preference
Resolution Scale 100%
Minimum Frame Rate 120
Maximum Frame Rate Unlimited
VSync Disabled
Quality Preset Low
Effects Quality Medium
Animation Quality Max
Simulation Quality Ultra
Async Compute Test on and off based on your CPU/GPU bottleneck

The competitive guide also recommends visibility options such as enemy UI color selection, a stronger reticle outline, and displaying enemy names. The official values are intended as a starting configuration; personal preference and hardware can change what works best.

How to tune performance without sacrificing too much clarity

Resolution scale and minimum frame rate

Resolution Scale controls the game’s internal 3D rendering resolution relative to the window’s resolution. Below 100% can improve performance by rendering fewer pixels; above 100% supersamples for a potentially cleaner image at extra cost.

  • 【INTEGRATED SPEAKERS】Whether you're at work or in the midst of an intense gaming session, our built-in speakers provide rich and seamless audio, all while keeping your desk clutter-free.
  • 【EASY ON THE EYES】 Protect your eyes and enhance your comfort with Blue-Light Shift technology. This feature reduces harmful blue light emissions from your screen, helping to alleviate eye strain during long hours of use and promoting healthier viewing habits.
  • 【WIDEN YOUR PERSPECTIVE】Our sleek minimal bezel design ensures undivided attention. The nearly bezel-free display seamlessly connects in a dual monitor arrangement, delivering an unobstructed view that lets you focus on more at once, completely distraction-free.

Minimum Frame Rate dynamically reduces resolution when performance falls below the selected target. A target of 120 can make the game prioritize that frame rate over image detail, and Halo Support warns the result may look blurry or fuzzy during demanding gameplay. If clarity suffers, lower the target. The Maximum Frame Rate setting caps rendered frames; reducing the cap may make performance more consistent and smooth.

Graphics preset and individual quality settings

The Quality Preset changes the graphics settings together, and its default depends on the PC. Start at Low for the competitive baseline, then raise individual settings only where the visual improvement matters and performance headroom allows. Some setting changes require a game restart.

  • Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
  • Anti-aliasing: Higher quality can consume more processing power.
  • Texture filtering: Improves the appearance of distant textures, with possible frame-rate and video-memory costs.
  • Texture quality: Changes texture resolution and can affect memory use.
  • Geometry, reflections, shadows, lighting, fog, clouds, foliage, effects, decals, and terrain: Control different scene details and effects; their costs vary by system.
  • Effects Quality: The official competitive guide uses Medium. Lower settings may disable non-essential effects to help maintain performance.
  • Animation and Simulation Quality: The baseline uses Max and Ultra, respectively; adjust if needed rather than assuming every option has the same cost on every PC.

Async Compute: test against your bottleneck

There is no universal Async Compute recommendation. Enabling it increases CPU overhead; if your PC is not CPU-bound, it may reduce GPU overhead and improve performance. If the CPU is already the bottleneck, it will likely lower performance. When you cannot identify the bottleneck, compare both settings under the same repeatable workload rather than changing several options at once.

Settings that affect visibility, latency, and comfort

Field of view

The competitive baseline recommends 100° FOV. A wider angle shows more of the surrounding area but can cost performance; a narrower angle may be more comfortable for players prone to motion sickness. Choose the widest view that remains comfortable and performs acceptably on your PC.

  • Fast IPS: Faster 0.5ms response with excellent color accuracy across wide IPS viewing angles.
  • Rich color: 99% sRGB color coverage delivers vivid, detailed imagery with strong accuracy.
  • Eye comfort: TÜV Rheinland 3‑star certified display lowers blue light while preserving color quality.

VSync and frame-rate cap

Halo Support describes VSync as triple-buffered synchronization: it reduces screen tearing but adds latency. The competitive baseline turns it off to allow higher rendering rates, with tearing as a possible tradeoff. Turning it on can reduce peak and average frame rate. If you prefer a tear-free image, try VSync; if responsiveness matters more, try it off and assess tearing on your display.

Reduce visual distractions and tune brightness

The baseline sets Blur, Screen Shake, Exposure, and Full Screen Effects to 0%, disables Speed Lines, and uses 60% Sharpening. Brightness starts at the default 0; adjust it in Screen Calibration for your display and room. Higher brightness can help some players distinguish enemies and details, but the official guide recommends starting at default rather than assuming brighter is always better.

Make enemy markers and the reticle easier to distinguish

Halo Support’s competitive options include Vermilion (red), Cerise (purple), Grass (green), and Pineapple (yellow) for enemy UI colors. The guide’s reticle-outline starting values are opacity 1.0 and thickness 2.0, with enemy names enabled. A more defined outline may stand out better against lighter-colored outlines. Choose a color you can distinguish comfortably in the maps and lighting you play; visibility is scene-dependent.

Halo Support advises using the latest PC graphics drivers. Driver releases and game updates can change performance, so a published hardware tier is a reference point rather than a substitute for checking current support information.

A controlled way to find your best settings

  1. Apply the competitive baseline. Set the listed values, then play a consistent activity or map to establish how the game looks and feels.
  2. Address frame-rate drops first. If performance falls short, reduce Resolution Scale or Minimum Frame Rate target as needed. Watch for excessive blur when the minimum target is high.
  3. Adjust graphics selectively. Raise settings that improve details you value, and lower costly settings if performance becomes unstable. Change a small number at a time, and restart if the game requests it.
  4. Compare Async Compute. Test both states using the same workload, particularly if you are unsure whether the CPU or GPU is limiting performance.
  5. Balance tearing and responsiveness. Compare VSync on and off, then choose based on whether tearing or added latency is more disruptive to you.
  6. Finish with visibility and comfort. Set FOV, brightness, enemy UI color, reticle outline, and effects to values you can read comfortably in actual gameplay.

There is no official comparative benchmark in the cited support guidance establishing how many FPS any one setting gains. The practical goal is a stable frame rate your PC can sustain, with enough resolution and visual information to track opponents clearly.
