Search Qantas Frequent Flyer with Rewards selected, then verify each candidate’s flight number, First cabin and aircraft for your exact travel date. A result for First Class does not by itself prove the flight is operated by an A380, and reward availability is not secure until you complete the booking on Qantas.com.
Search Qantas rewards and identify Classic seats

Sign in to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account and search with the Rewards option selected. Qantas marks Classic Flight Rewards with a red Reward ribbon. See Qantas Classic Flight Rewards.

Search across flexible dates and departure times. Qantas says Classic reward inventory is limited, so flexibility can help you find an available option, but it cannot guarantee a seat.

For international flights, use the Qantas Flight Reward Finder to filter by destination, cabin and travel dates. Open a candidate and follow its prompts to check current availability and continue to Qantas.com.

Tell Classic and Classic Plus rewards apart

Verify that the result is actually a Qantas A380 in First
A search result or route name alone is not enough to establish the aircraft. The Qantas sources cited here do not provide a current verified list of A380 First routes, and the Flight Reward Finder does not establish an A380 aircraft filter. Before booking, confirm the exact flight number, First cabin and aircraft assignment for the date you intend to travel. Check the flight details in Qantas’s booking flow and recheck if the aircraft matters to your plans; aircraft assignments can be date-specific.

Advance booking: Qantas states Classic Flight Rewards can be booked up to 353 days ahead. The applicable window and availability depend on the flight and inventory.

Close-in booking: Qantas’s general online cutoff for an international flight is four hours before scheduled departure. Different minimum booking times can apply to some partner flights or departure points. Check the Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and booking information for the itinerary.

Operating carrier and codeshares: Airlines control the number of reward seats they offer, based on factors including flight, date, season, destination and commercial demand; some flights may have none. Qantas says not all partner routes and cabins are available, and Classic rewards generally are not offered on codeshare flights unless Qantas specifies otherwise. Confirm the operating carrier and flight code; where applicable, the terms direct members to book under the operating carrier’s airline code.

Cash charges: Points are not the entire cost. Taxes, fees and carrier charges are additional for Classic rewards and are quoted at booking. Qantas says online reward bookings may be made without a booking fee; telephone bookings can incur a Reward Assistance Fee.
Keep Emirates First rules separate from Qantas A380 rewards
If you are considering an Emirates First Classic Flight Reward instead, Qantas lists separate 2026 restrictions: from 21 January 2026, passengers must be at least nine years old; from 18 February 2026, the booking member must have Qantas Frequent Flyer Silver status or higher. Qantas says existing bookings are unaffected, but changes made after those dates are subject to the restrictions. These rules concern Emirates rewards, not Qantas-operated A380 First flights.
