Which phone is easier to handle?
HONOR Magic9: the more compact choice on paper
The Magic9’s listed body is 72.28 mm wide and its screen measures 6.37 inches. That makes it the more compact candidate by the published dimensions, which may suit readers who prioritize carrying a smaller phone or reaching across the screen. Dimensions alone do not establish one-handed comfort; hand size, case choice, and balance also matter.

Galaxy S26 Ultra: more screen, larger body
The S26 Ultra is 78.1 mm wide and has a 6.9-inch display measured as a full rectangle; Samsung gives 6.7 inches with rounded corners taken into account. Its QHD+ resolution and adaptive 1–120Hz refresh are listed by Samsung. The trade-off is a wider, taller body than the Magic9, so it is the more natural option if a large viewing area matters more than compactness.
Which camera system better matches your needs?
Samsung lists more explicit focal-length coverage
The S26 Ultra’s listed rear cameras include dedicated 3x and 5x optical telephoto lenses. Samsung separately calls 2x and 10x “optical quality” zoom, enabled by Adaptive Pixel; those are not the same claim as its stated 3x and 5x optical zoom. For video, Samsung lists 4K at 120 fps in Pro Video and 8K at 30 fps.

HONOR positions the Magic9 for creators, but keep model tiers straight
HONOR says ARRI imaging capabilities span the Magic9 series and describes cross-brand touch-to-transfer features, including iPhone-related connectivity functions. Its detailed dual-200MP cinema workflow and associated accessories in the global announcement apply specifically to the Magic9 Pro Max, not the base Magic9. HONOR names the Teleconverter G200 as an accessory for the base Magic9 and lists a China price of CNY 999; local compatibility, availability, and price need checking.
These descriptions do not show which phone takes better photos or video in practice. Megapixel counts, lens labels, and manufacturer positioning are not substitutes for controlled comparisons of image quality, low-light results, stabilization, autofocus, or workflow.

What do the prices tell you—and what don’t they?
HONOR lists the base Magic9 at a starting price of CNY 4,999 in its September 28, 2026 China announcement. The same announcement lists the different Magic9 Pro Max at CNY 6,499 and Magic9 Super Edition at CNY 4,499; neither sibling’s price is the base Magic9 price. Samsung’s US launch announcement lists the S26 Ultra starting at $1,299.99, with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options. These figures come from different markets and cannot establish which phone is cheaper for you.
Before buying, compare the exact configuration and current price in your country, and confirm stock, warranty coverage, network bands, and regional software or language support. The cited launch information does not establish those details for a particular market.

What about software, AI, and ecosystem fit?
HONOR lists MagicOS 11 based on Android 17 for the China-market Magic9 and highlights touch-to-transfer functions, including iPhone-related connectivity. The cited material does not establish how every feature works across regional versions or devices, so confirm support for the products you actually use.
Samsung highlights Galaxy AI and a built-in Privacy Display as S26 Ultra features. Privacy Display is Samsung’s feature claim, not an independent evaluation of privacy effectiveness. Samsung also reports up to 19% higher CPU performance, 39% NPU improvement, and 24% GPU boost relative to its stated predecessor baseline; those are Samsung-reported figures, not independent benchmark results.
What is known about battery life and durability?
Samsung lists a 5,000mAh typical battery capacity and separately gives a 4,855mAh rated minimum capacity. Capacity is not an endurance test, and Samsung says actual battery life varies. The cited Magic9 specification information does not establish a comparable battery figure or independent battery-life result, so this material cannot determine which phone lasts longer.
Samsung lists IP68 and describes laboratory testing in up to 1.5 metres of freshwater for up to 30 minutes. It also notes resistance can diminish with wear; this is not a claim that the phone is permanently waterproof. The cited material does not establish a comparable Magic9 durability rating.
