Never give a generator your password, verification code, backup code, or browser cookie, and don’t install software it requires. Redeem codes only through the game’s official app, website, or publisher-announced channels.
How to tell whether a game code website is a scam
Judge a code offer by who published it and how it is redeemed—not by a familiar logo, polished design, or video recommending it. Roblox says, “There is no such thing as free Robux or subscription offers, tricks, or codes,” and warns that such offers can be used to obtain personal information or direct players to harmful links. That statement is specific to Roblox; anime games have different publishers and policies.
- It promises free paid currency or valuable items. An offer that sounds unusually generous deserves caution, especially when it asks you to complete steps unrelated to the game’s official redemption process.
- It asks you to log in on an unfamiliar page. Do not enter credentials on a site reached through an unsolicited link. Roblox says it will never ask for your password outside its login page (Roblox: Avoiding Frauds & Scams).
- It requests a verification or backup code, browser cookie, or other account secret. These details can help someone access your account. Keep them private, even if a page claims it needs them to “verify” you.
- It uses urgency, surveys, or off-platform links to push you along. These are warning signs, not proof by themselves; do not provide account information as part of the process.
- It requires a download or exploit. Roblox warns that exploits may install malware such as keyloggers or phishing programs that can steal computer information, including a Roblox password. Don’t install a generator or exploit to get a code (Roblox Support: Cheating and Exploiting).
These signs are practical warnings, not a ranking of which scam is most common. Official sources do not establish a prevalence rate for anime-game generator scams across publishers.
Can a code generator steal your account?
It can put your account at risk if you hand over credentials or security codes, expose a browser cookie, or run malicious software. A page visit alone does not mean your account has automatically been compromised. The risk depends on what you shared or installed.

Roblox’s account-safety guidance advises players not to share account information and to use security features such as 2-step verification. HoYoverse likewise recommends strengthening account security and protecting linked access (Roblox Support: Keep Your Account Safe; HoYoverse: How can I strengthen the security of my account?).
What to do if you interacted with a generator
Choose the response that matches what happened. Use only the publisher’s official app, website, or support channel when changing credentials or requesting recovery.

You entered your password
- Go directly to the game publisher’s official site or app and change the password. Make it unique rather than reusing a password from another service.
- Secure the email account linked to the game, including its password and available two-step verification.
- Enable the game account’s available 2FA or 2SV, then review trusted devices or active sessions if the service provides those controls.
You shared a one-time or backup code
Contact the publisher through its official support channel promptly and follow its account-recovery instructions. Do not send additional codes to someone claiming to help through an unsolicited message.

You downloaded or ran a file
Stop using the file and seek help from a trusted device-security professional or your organization’s IT support, if applicable. Roblox documents malware risks from exploits, but there is no single cleanup procedure established here for every device or file.
You can no longer access a HoYoverse account
HoYoverse’s hacked-or-lost-account instructions say to reset the password and, if that fails, submit its account-issues application with accurate account details and monitor the recovery email. HoYoverse cautions that recovery is not guaranteed (HoYoverse: My account has been hacked or lost, what should I do?).

How to redeem real game codes safely
- Verify the announcement. Find the code through the publisher’s official website, verified app, or channels the publisher identifies. Roblox says official promotions are announced through its blog, Messages notifications, or a site banner. HoYoverse names HoYoLAB, YouTube, and Twitch as examples of official code channels.
- Open the redemption route from an official source. Don’t rely on a search ad, unsolicited message, or third-party “generator.” HoYoverse identifies an official Genshin Impact gift redemption website in its redemption guidance (HoYoverse: How do I redeem a gift code?).
- Check the code’s conditions. For HoYoverse codes, an error can mean the code is expired, entered with incorrect spelling or case, intended for another region or server, or already redeemed. HoYoverse says a code can be redeemed once per account (HoYoverse: Why am I getting an error message that my redemption code is invalid or has already been used?).
- Collect the reward through the stated method. For Genshin Impact, successful rewards arrive through in-game mail, which typically expires after 30 days. Check the publisher’s current instructions for the specific game; code channels, restrictions, and redemption steps vary and may change.
Protect the account behind the game
- Use a unique password for the game account and secure the linked email account.
- Turn on available 2FA or 2SV. Roblox lists security keys as one of its 2-step verification options; confirm compatibility with your own account and platform before choosing one.
- Review trusted devices or sessions when the publisher offers that control, and remove access you do not recognize.
- Keep passwords, cookies, verification codes, and backup codes private. Log in only through the official app or a site you reached from the publisher’s own channel.
A security key can strengthen account access where supported, but it does not make a scam site safe and cannot generate or redeem game codes.
