Xbox Wire’s January 21, 2026 overview describes Operations, Stratagems, and Siege as co-op PvE for up to three players: you and as many as two teammates. Patch 15 gives Crucible a separate matchmaking pool from standard PvE. The official sources do not establish comparative run times, a fixed difficulty order, or rewards per hour, so the fits above are playstyle guidance rather than measured rankings.
Operations: pick a mission with a defined objective
Operations are the clearest starting point if you want a cooperative mission rather than an open-ended survival run. Focus Entertainment announced Reclamation on November 25, 2025, and Purgation on May 21, 2026, as additional Operations. Those announcements confirm new missions were added, but do not guarantee a complete, current roster; use the in-game listings to see what is available to you.
Stratagems: missions with conditions and effects
Stratagems add another layer to PvE mission play through Stratagem effects and Battlefield Conditions. The Year Two roadmap announced PvE Stratagems, while update notices and Patch 15 refer to specific behavior and fixes. The official pages reviewed do not enumerate a complete live rotation, so do not assume that one named effect or condition is always active.

Siege and Chaos Siege: survive waves or play as Heretic Astartes
Standard Siege
The official Year Two roadmap frames Siege as survival against increasingly perilous waves. The May 21, 2026 Purgation update revamped Siege progression and added the Hive Tyrant and Mutalith Vortex Beast to the mode. Chaos Siege
Patch 15, published October 1, 2026, introduced Chaos to Siege. In this variant, players can take the role of Heretic Astartes, supported by Cultists and a Helbrute, against Tyranid Hive Fleet forces and Loyalists. Its new Hive map is set in an Avarax Hive City: Heretic Astartes defend strategic locations and attempt rituals. Pick it if the appeal is specifically fighting PvE as Chaos, rather than only facing Chaos as an enemy faction.

Crucible: an endgame challenge with a class-level gate
Patch 15 describes Crucible as the developers’ “first true endgame activity.” It is available to classes at level 25, launches through PvE Operations, and lets players apply Penances to increase mission difficulty in exchange for Crucible XP and customization rewards. Progression also unlocks Lamenters armor parts. Because Crucible has its own matchmaking pool, it is not simply another standard PvE queue.

Patch 15 says the developers intend to revisit Siege Blessings and Atonements, as well as Stratagems Battlefield Conditions, in Patch 16. This is a stated future intention, not a feature confirmed as released in Patch 15. Check current patch notes and in-game details before relying on a particular rule or condition.
