Promote a 24/7 YouTube stream with useful, varied Community posts that link directly to the stream. Tell viewers what they will find, highlight what is happening now, and announce meaningful programming changes or special segments. Choose a posting rhythm you can sustain: YouTube does not specify an ideal frequency for promoting a continuous stream or guarantee that posts will increase viewership.
Build a simple promotion plan
- Describe the stream clearly. Write one accurate sentence about its subject, mood, or purpose. Make the benefit concrete rather than relying on a generic “we are live” reminder.
- Choose a sustainable rhythm. Decide how often you can publish posts that add something useful. There is no established universal daily or weekly frequency for a 24/7 stream, so treat your cadence as a channel-specific experiment.
- Give each post a reason to click. Rotate between a concise reminder, a view of the current scene, a poll about a possible future theme, and an update about a programming change. Keep the post relevant to what viewers will actually find in the stream.
- Link straight to the stream. Put the direct stream link in the post so viewers have a clear next step. For a launch or special event within the continuous stream, share a teaser and the link in advance.
- Communicate changes. If the schedule, theme, or availability changes, tell viewers rather than letting an old post or promise mislead them.
- Review and adjust. Look at how your own posts perform and whether the routine is manageable. Change the format or cadence based on your channel’s experience, not an assumed growth formula.
Choose a post format for the message
YouTube supports text, image, video, poll, and quiz posts. Use the format that best serves the update; official guidance does not establish that one format will reliably reach more viewers than another.

Create and schedule a Community post
You can publish a post directly or schedule it on desktop for a selected date, time, and time zone. The exact controls can vary by device and YouTube interface.
- Open YouTube and start creating a post for your channel.
- Choose a format—text, image, video, poll, or quiz—and write copy that accurately describes the stream or update. In the poll composer, the prompt field is labeled “Ask your community…”
- Add the direct link to the stream. For an upcoming launch or special event, consider sharing the teaser and link ahead of time.
- On desktop, choose the scheduling option and set the publication date, time, and time zone, then confirm the schedule. If you are posting immediately, publish the post instead.
- Check the channel’s daily post limit if YouTube prevents another post from being scheduled or published.
Promote launches and special moments differently
A continuous stream can still have specific moments worth promoting: a launch, a themed block, or a planned change. YouTube’s live-event guidance recommends creating a teaser and sharing the stream link in advance. A scheduled live stream may appear as upcoming in subscribers’ feeds, where viewers can choose “Notify me.” This is most useful for a distinct event or launch, not as a reason to repeatedly announce an unchanged stream.

What Community posts can—and cannot—promise
Posts may appear on your channel page and in Home or Subscriptions feeds; image posts may also appear in the Shorts feed. Subscribers may receive a notification. These are possible placements, not a guarantee that every subscriber will see a post or receive a notification.
Posts are unavailable to supervised accounts and channels set as Made for Kids. YouTube also imposes a daily post limit. The platform’s guidance supports regular, sustainable publishing and communicating schedule changes, but it does not give an optimal posting frequency for 24/7 streams or a guaranteed viewership lift for any post format.
