If your DualSense will not connect to a PS5, connect it with the USB cable supplied with the controller and press the PS button. If it will not pair with a compatible PC, phone, or other Bluetooth device, turn it off, unplug USB, then hold Create and PS until the light bar blinks. If the correct pairing steps do not work, reset the controller and try again.
Reconnect a DualSense controller to a PS5

Turn on the PS5 and connect the controller to it with the supplied USB cable.

Press the PS button. Sony uses this cable connection to pair the controller with the console. Once the controller has enough charge, you can remove the cable and use it wirelessly.
If you no longer have the supplied cable or it appears defective, try a replacement USB cable that supports data transfer, not charging alone. Sony recommends using the supplied cable for this procedure. Sony’s DualSense troubleshooting instructions

Pair it with a PC, phone, or other supported Bluetooth device

Make sure the controller is off. If its player indicator is lit, hold PS until the controller turns off. Disconnect any USB cable.

Hold the Create button, then hold PS until the light bar blinks.

On the device you want to connect, turn on Bluetooth and select the controller from the Bluetooth device list. The light bar blinks during pairing; the player indicator lights when pairing is complete.

If you move the controller to a different device, pair it with that device again. Sony’s PC instructions say a controller can be paired with only one device at a time.

A Bluetooth connection does not guarantee that every game or controller feature will work. Support varies by game and device; for a PC game on Steam, check its store page for Full or Partial Controller Support. Some PC features, including haptics, may require a USB connection. Reset the controller if it still will not connect

Locate the small recessed reset button on the back of the controller, near the Sony logo. Use a pin or similar tool to press and hold it for at least five seconds.

Reconnect the controller to the PS5 with the supplied USB cable and press PS.

Sony says resetting the controller does not affect its pairing settings. If the controller still will not connect after the reset, go to PlayStation Repairs for Sony’s diagnostic route. These steps are troubleshooting guidance, not a diagnosis of a particular controller fault.

Sony recommends keeping PS5 system software current. DualSense device software updates are added when PS5 system software is updated. To check for a controller update manually, open Settings > Accessories > Controller (General) > DualSense Wireless Controller Device Software. Sony’s Controllers Support page provides its controller software guidance.
