ACE COMBAT 8 PC requirements at a glance
Bandai Namco Europe lists the following minimum and recommended specifications on its official PC requirements page. The page does not date the specification table. Both tiers require a 64-bit processor and operating system, Windows 11, DirectX 12, an SSD, 125 GB of available storage, hardware ray tracing, and DirectX 12 with Shader Model 6.6 or higher.

“Upscaled” is part of both published targets; they should not be read as native 1080p rendering. Bandai Namco also warns that frame rates may drop in graphics-intensive scenes, so the recommended tier does not promise a locked 60 fps.
What to set for your PC
If your PC meets the minimum tier
Use Low as the starting preset. The publisher associates that tier with an estimated 30 fps at 1920×1080 upscaled. If your system is below the listed CPU, RAM, or GPU baseline, the official specifications do not establish what performance to expect.

If your PC meets the recommended tier
Start at Medium. Bandai Namco estimates 60 fps at 1920×1080 upscaled on that tier, while cautioning that demanding scenes can reduce frame rates.
If you want to tune individual options
The official material does not provide a validated per-setting configuration for other hardware, a specific upscaling or frame-generation mode recommendation, or a universal way to stabilize frame rates. You can try adjusting options on your own system, but treat those changes as experiments rather than tested settings advice. No reproducible independent benchmark data is established here for predicting performance on unlisted GPUs.

Check the requirements that can block launch
- Windows: Windows 11 and a 64-bit operating system are required.
- Graphics support: The listed GPU must support hardware ray tracing and DirectX 12 Shader Model 6.6 or higher. Hardware without those capabilities does not meet the stated requirements.
- Storage: Install to an SSD and ensure 125 GB is available. If you need more suitable storage, the publisher specifies no particular SSD model.
- Memory: The minimum is 16 GB RAM; the recommended tier lists 32 GB.
What to try if the Steam version crashes
In a September 30, 2026 Steam notice, the Ace Combat Team said it was investigating reports of unexpected crashes. It suggested checking your graphics-driver version and using the recommended driver shown when launching the game, keeping at least 16 GB free on the installation SSD, and ensuring Windows virtual memory is enabled. These are troubleshooting suggestions, not confirmed causes or guaranteed fixes.
- Check your graphics driver. When launching the game, look for the recommended driver information and use the advised version.
- Confirm that the installation SSD has at least 16 GB of free space.
- Make sure Windows virtual memory is enabled.
The same official notice says error ST-3100001 appears when communication with the ACE COMBAT ONLINE server is lost and suggests synchronizing Windows time. That is an online-connection troubleshooting step, not a graphics-performance adjustment.
Flight sticks and HOTAS compatibility
Before buying or configuring a flight stick or HOTAS for ACE COMBAT 8, verify support for the specific device and control options you need. In a September 30, 2026 support notice, the Ace Combat Team said some configuration options available for certain devices in ACE COMBAT 7 are not currently available in ACE COMBAT 8. The team said it was reviewing improvements, but the notice certifies no particular device model or feature.
