Enable DLSS Super Resolution on Auto; use Frame Generation if you want higher displayed frame rates. These are path-tracing recommendations, not universal settings for every PC or console.
Recommended settings for PC path tracing
Update the game and graphics driver first. In version 1.2.2, IO Interactive added an option to restore or enable recommended defaults and addressed performance in specific path-traced scenes. If you have already changed several graphics options, start from the game’s defaults before applying the recommendations below.

These figures are IO Interactive’s expectations, not independent benchmark results or guarantees. Frame Generation increases the displayed frame rate; it should not be read as the same thing as the game’s native rendered frame rate.
Set DLSS and frame generation
For the recommended path-tracing setup, choose NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution and set its ratio to Auto. DLSS Multi Frame Generation offers multipliers from 2X through 6X. Dynamic Multi Frame Generation can change the multiplier to help maintain a consistent frame rate. The right multiplier depends on your priorities and display; the developer’s guidance specifically calls out 2X for the above-60-FPS expectation on RTX 5070 and RTX 5080, and 6X for the RTX 5090’s 200+ FPS estimate.

Choose Medium or High path tracing
IO Interactive describes Medium and High path-tracing quality levels. High adds shading and reflection detail and uses more bounces, but requires substantially more resources. Its guidance favors Medium for a balanced experience unless you have an RTX 5090. If performance is uneven on a supported card, Medium is the more conservative starting point.
Decide whether to disable VSync
IO Interactive says VSync can be turned off depending on your display and preference. It is not a universal performance fix: whether to use it depends on your display behavior and whether you prefer synchronization over the trade-offs of running without it.

General PC requirements are not the path-tracing recommendations
IO Interactive’s support overview, updated September 15, 2026, lists the following PC requirements. The page does not specify a separate path-tracing tier, so these baseline specifications should not be mistaken for a promise that path tracing will run well.

The RTX 5070 recommendation is for path tracing at 1080p, an optional higher-performance feature tier; it is not the general recommended GPU. The published requirements have changed: IO Interactive’s January 6, 2026 announcement listed 32 GB RAM in its recommended specification and included 1080p/60-FPS targets, while the later support overview lists 16 GB for both tiers and omits those targets. For current displayed requirements, the later support page is the relevant reference.

What to use on non-path-tracing PCs and consoles
The detailed settings and performance figures above address path tracing on PC only. IO Interactive’s cited support overview gives baseline PC requirements but does not provide a complete non-path-tracing optimization preset. It also lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as released platforms, but does not establish console resolution, graphics modes, or frame-rate targets. Do not apply the PC path-tracing recommendations to consoles or assume a console mode from them.

Display and installation checks
- Ultrawide: IO Interactive’s support page, updated September 15, 2026, says ultrawide monitors are not supported “at this time.” Check the support page for later compatibility changes.
- Storage: The PC requirements call for an SSD with 80 GB available.
- First launch: The campaign can be played offline after a one-time internet connection to download the day-one patch. An IO Interactive account is not required to play, though the support page says some rewards require one.
