To get Charting the Unknown, find its separate listing in the official store for the platform where you own Crimson Desert. The DLC is scheduled to release on October 29, 2026; as of October 3, it has not launched, so post-release installation steps cannot yet be confirmed. The date replaced the previously announced October 15 schedule. Pearl Abyss’ release update gives the current date and regional launch times.
Where to find Charting the Unknown
Use the official storefront for the same platform and account that owns the base game. Pearl Abyss has named PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store as storefronts. The Steam page identifies Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown as downloadable content and says the base game is required. Buying the base game does not, by itself, grant this separate expansion.

- PlayStation 5: Search the PlayStation Store for the DLC while using the regional account that owns the base game.
- Xbox Series X|S: Check the Microsoft Store listing using the account and console edition associated with your game.
- PC on Steam: Open the Steam DLC listing while signed into the account that owns Crimson Desert.
- PC on Epic Games Store: Find the add-on through the Epic account that owns the base game.
Storefronts and regional availability can differ. Pearl Abyss says some markets will not receive the DLC because of content and age-rating review. Affected pre-orders are being stopped, with refunds handled according to platform. If the listing does not appear in your regional store, do not assume that changing platforms or accounts will make it available; check the publisher’s platform and pre-order announcement and your local storefront.
Release date and regional launch times
Pearl Abyss moved the release from October 15 to October 29, 2026, a two-week delay. Its September 30 notice says the team needed more development time for a more polished and stable experience. The currently posted regional times are:

How to install the DLC after release
The expansion was not yet released at the time these details were checked, and no publisher-verified, platform-by-platform installation walkthrough was available. The following is general store guidance, not a tested menu path; labels and automatic downloads vary by platform.

- Confirm ownership: Sign into the platform account that owns Crimson Desert. Steam explicitly lists the base game as a requirement for the DLC.
- Check the correct listing: Open the official store page for Charting the Unknown. Verify the platform and regional listing before purchasing or redeeming it.
- Purchase or redeem on that account: Complete the transaction through the platform’s own store. The add-on is separate from the base game.
- Check for the download: On or after the posted release time, open your game library and inspect the game’s DLC, add-on, or manage-content controls. Install or enable the expansion if it has not downloaded automatically.
- Update and launch the game: Apply any available game update, launch Crimson Desert, and check for access to the expansion.
If the DLC is missing
- Make sure the account currently signed in is the one that purchased or redeemed the DLC and owns the base game.
- Check that the DLC is available in your region and that the store page matches your platform.
- Look again in the game’s library or add-on management controls, and install or enable the DLC if needed.
- Check for a game update and allow for the platform’s posted release time.
- If the add-on still does not appear, use the support route for the storefront where you bought it.
What the expansion adds
Pearl Abyss describes Charting the Unknown as an expansion of exploration and story, with ocean voyages, diving, underwater sites, housing improvements, facility management, and new stories involving Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane. See the official DLC page for the publisher’s feature description.

Pearl Abyss says the Mac App Store is not included at launch and that it will announce separately if a Mac release is planned. Do not expect to install this DLC through the Mac App Store on launch day unless the publisher later announces availability.
