Extended Operations adds replay options and five TacSim activities—not a new campaign chapter. The base game’s missions advance Bond’s origin story through varied espionage scenarios; the update adds four Valhalla driving missions and the Jungle Heist operation, while New Game+ and 00 difficulty change how you can replay the existing campaign.
How the campaign differs from TacSim
IO Interactive describes the campaign as Bond’s journey from recruit to field agent. Its narrative missions move between locations and let players use stealth, direct action, or a mix of approaches, drawing on investigation, bluffing, spycraft, Instinct, Q Branch gadgets, and combat. The studio’s launch examples include a covert operation at a chess tournament in Slovakia and an infiltration of a London gala. These are the publisher’s descriptions, rather than independent gameplay testing. IO Interactive’s launch announcement and gameplay overview outline that campaign structure.
The base game also launched with Tactical Simulation, or TacSim: a separate mode set in an MI6 facility, built around scored missions, challenges, and progression rewards. So the comparison is not story missions versus a game with no replay mode. Extended Operations expands TacSim, and separately adds new ways to revisit the campaign. What new TacSim missions does Extended Operations add?

The update launched on October 1, 2026, as free DLC and version 1.3.0. IO Interactive’s Extended Operations announcement details the new activities. The update also includes Photo Mode, weapon-handling animation improvements, and more than 700 fixes and improvements, which IO Interactive attributes to reports, support tickets, and player feedback. Those are update features, not additional missions.

How New Game+ changes campaign replays
New Game+ unlocks after you complete the campaign. You can restart from the beginning or from a completed checkpoint, retain access to unlocked outfits and gadgets, and change gadgets during a mission. Gadget availability still follows story progression. This adds flexibility to campaign replays; it does not turn existing missions into new ones.
Once New Game+ is unlocked, you can also use custom outfits and gadget flexibility with other difficulty settings. The update’s most demanding option is 00 difficulty.

What 00 difficulty changes
- Enemies react faster, and some guards are replaced by tougher variants.
- Gadgets are restricted when used in a guard’s line of sight.
- Combat leaves little room for mistakes: enemies can kill Bond in two hits, and parry and side-step timing is tighter.
These rules make 00 a tougher way to revisit the existing campaign, not a separate set of story missions. The mechanics above are described by IO Interactive in its update announcement.

IO Interactive’s official descriptions establish the mission types and update features, but do not provide a comparable mission-length figure or independent player-satisfaction assessment.
