YouTube Studio does not offer a single action to download an entire playlist. It lets you download eligible videos you uploaded one at a time; to make a bulk archive of your uploaded videos, YouTube points creators to Google Takeout. Neither method is documented as creating one video file from a playlist.
Download one video from your playlist in YouTube Studio
Use the individual download workflow for a few selected videos. You need to be signed in to the Google Account associated with the YouTube channel that uploaded them.
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- Select Content in the left-hand panel.
- Find the uploaded video you want and open its menu.
- Select Download.
YouTube Help says the downloaded MP4 is 720p or 360p, depending on video size; it does not promise that this download matches the original upload resolution. See YouTube’s instructions for downloading videos you uploaded.

Download all your uploaded videos with Google Takeout
If you want an archive of your channel’s uploads rather than a handful of individual files, Google Takeout is the bulk-export route YouTube identifies. This exports uploaded videos and selected account data; the official guidance does not describe it as rendering a playlist into one playable video file.
#1 Best Overall
- Easily store and access 2TB to content on the go with the Seagate Portable Drive, a USB external hard drive
- Designed to work with Windows or Mac computers, this external hard drive makes backup a snap just drag and drop
- To get set up, connect the portable hard drive to a computer for automatic recognition no software required
- This USB drive provides plug and play simplicity with the included 18 inch USB 3.0 cable
- The available storage capacity may vary.
- Open Google Takeout and sign in to the account that owns the channel.
- Select the YouTube data you want included in the export.
- Choose the archive format and delivery destination.
- Create the export and follow Google’s instructions to retrieve it when ready.
Creating a Takeout export does not delete the data stored on Google’s servers. Archive contents may not reflect changes made after you request the export and before it is created. If videos are missing, check whether they were uploaded through a Brand Account and try the Google Account associated with that Brand Account. Details are in Google’s Takeout help.
Keep the playlist order separately
A playlist is an ordered collection, not a combined video file. You can manage its details in YouTube Studio under Content → Playlists. YouTube’s playlist workflow also offers Edit on YouTube for actions such as reordering, sharing, collaborating, or adding videos. That management workflow is separate from downloading each uploaded video, and the documented steps do not download all playlist videos at once. See YouTube’s playlist management instructions.

Why the Download option may be missing
YouTube says a Studio download may be unavailable if the video was removed, has a copyright or Community Guidelines strike, uses a pre-approved audio track, or has already been downloaded five times in the last 24 hours. The stated limit is five downloads per video per 24 hours; the option becomes available again after a day. YouTube’s Studio feature downloads videos you uploaded, not other users’ videos. Check the official download guidance for the applicable restrictions.

Choose the route that matches your goal
| Goal | Use | What it provides |
|---|---|---|
| Save a few specific uploads | YouTube Studio, one video at a time | Individual MP4 downloads; YouTube states 720p or 360p depending on video size. |
| Archive your channel uploads in bulk | Google Takeout | An export of uploaded videos and selected account data, not a playlist joined into one video. |
| Copy a YouTube Music playlist to another supported music service | Google’s playlist-copy feature | A music playlist transfer, not local video downloads of an ordinary YouTube playlist. See Google’s YouTube Music playlist transfer help. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded videos playing as a 24/7 YouTube livestream—not to download or archive a playlist—StreamNeo is a separate option. Upload videos, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running without a computer left on at home; videos stream as uploaded up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly is $9.99 per month. This is for streaming uploaded videos, not retrieving playlist files. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
