To add a ShrinkTheWeb screenshot to Blogger, use Layout → Add a Gadget → HTML/JavaScript, then paste the current embed markup supplied by ShrinkTheWeb and save. The Blogger steps are documented; an exact, current ShrinkTheWeb snippet is not established here, so don’t substitute old code from another platform.
Add the screenshot with a Blogger gadget
This is the clearest option when the screenshot should appear in a particular layout area, such as a sidebar or footer. Blogger describes layouts as sections containing widgets, and its layout reference includes an HTML/JavaScript widget with title and content fields.
- Sign in to Blogger and select the blog you want to edit.
- Open Layout.
- In the page area where the screenshot should appear, choose Add a Gadget.
- Select HTML/JavaScript.
- Paste the current markup or image URL format provided by ShrinkTheWeb into the gadget’s content field. Add a title only if you want one displayed.
- Save the gadget and save the layout if Blogger presents a separate save control.
- Preview the published blog on desktop and mobile to check placement and display.
Blogger’s help explains the gadget workflow at its Layout help page; the available widget fields are described in Blogger’s layout data reference.
Use theme HTML only for template-level placement
If the screenshot needs to be placed outside an ordinary gadget area or requires editing the template itself, Blogger documents a separate route: open Theme, choose More, then Edit HTML, make the template change, and save. Back up the theme before editing as a precaution. This route has broader scope than adding a gadget and can affect the template.

Blogger Help cautions: “Blog authors who add code or third-party widgets do so at their own risk.” See Blogger Help. Blogger’s layout documentation says sections and widgets are rendered as div elements on the published blog; that describes the layout model, but does not guarantee a particular third-party script will run in every theme.
Get the current ShrinkTheWeb markup before pasting
The ShrinkTheWeb integration examples available for this guide are historical and platform-specific, not verified current Blogger instructions. A Drupal module guide last updated March 4, 2019 describes access and secret keys and capture options including width, full-length capture, maximum height, viewport dimensions, delay, and quality; those descriptions do not confirm today’s API parameters or account entitlements. The Drupal project page said the project appeared no longer supported as of January 31, 2022, which is a statement about that project, not proof that ShrinkTheWeb itself is unavailable. A WordPress.com listing, last updated August 4, 2017, describes the WordPress shortcode [stwthumb]...[/stwthumb]; it is not Blogger syntax.

- Obtain the exact embed code or image URL format from current ShrinkTheWeb instructions before publishing.
- Check whether the method requires an account credential. Do not expose a secret credential in public page source; whether ShrinkTheWeb offers a public-safe embed or a particular key format is not established by the historical examples.
- Do not assume that old integrations confirm current service availability, pricing, caching, refresh behavior, or supported capture options.
Historical examples: Drupal module guide, Drupal project page, and WordPress.com plugin listing.
Troubleshoot a missing or misplaced screenshot
- The gadget is blank: Open the screenshot URL independently. If it does not load there, check the URL and the current ShrinkTheWeb account or embed requirements. If it loads directly but not in Blogger, confirm that you used current ShrinkTheWeb markup rather than a platform-specific historical example.
- The screenshot appears in the wrong place: Return to Layout and move the gadget to the intended section, then save and preview again.
- The screenshot is clipped or poorly sized: Check the dimensions or display instructions in the current ShrinkTheWeb guidance. Historical Drupal options do not establish which settings are currently supported for a Blogger embed.
- The template changes unexpectedly: If you edited theme HTML, restore the saved theme backup or undo the change, then use a gadget if the desired location is available in Layout.
- The result differs between desktop and mobile: Preview both views and verify the current embed’s sizing behavior. The available sources do not establish compatibility for every Blogger theme or device layout.

For a direct screenshot API alternative, ScreenshotNeo returns a screenshot or PDF from one GET request; it removes supported cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets before capture, and only clean shots are billed. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, with the outcome indicated by response headers. Its MCP server lets AI agents use screenshot tools. The free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. This is an API alternative, not a Blogger gadget or verified ShrinkTheWeb-compatible embed.
Example request (replace the URL with the page to capture). See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for request details and output options:
