To refine a weapon in Slayers 2, take a weapon you already own to Refiner Hagane in Hidden Mist Village. Select the weapon, check the next step’s Wen and ore requirements and displayed outcome chances, then decide whether to activate a Refinement Guard before attempting the upgrade. Refinement is separate from forging a new weapon. The costs and odds below come from a community guide, not official developer documentation, so use the live refinement panel as the authority before spending.
How to refine a weapon
- Travel to Hidden Mist Village. Find Refiner Hagane, whom community guides identify as the refinement NPC.
- Open Hagane’s refinement interaction. Choose the weapon you own and want to upgrade. This is not the blacksmith’s forge flow for crafting another weapon.
- Review the next refinement step. Read the required Wen, exact ore name and quantity, and the listed success, great-success, and fail chances. Check the weapon’s displayed benefit as well; gains differ by weapon.
- Choose whether to use a Refinement Guard. If you want one, make sure the interface shows it is active. Owning a guard in your inventory does not establish that it will be applied automatically.
- Attempt the refinement, then check the result. Confirm the weapon’s new level and your remaining Wen and ore before deciding whether to try again.
Guides describe a failed attempt as consuming its costs and lowering the refinement level. A Refinement Guard is described as preventing that downgrade; it is not a guarantee of success. Check Hagane’s current panel for the exact consequence and any guard behavior before confirming. The following figures are reported by Slayers 2 Guide; they are not confirmed by an official developer source, and may change. The table is a planning reference only. Verify the exact requirement and chances shown in game, particularly before higher-level attempts.

Slayers 2 Guide reports that ordinary Refinement Ore is used through the +4-to-+5 attempt and Mythic Refinement Ore starts at +5 to +6. Confirm the live item name: the guide does not establish that these requirements are unchanged. How to farm refinement ores
Mythic Refinement Ore
The Slayers 2 Guide weapons page lists Sealed Caches, World Events Chests, Snow and Lost Chests, fishing, and selling spare Mythic items to Ginzo as reported sources of Mythic Refinement Ore. This is a community-maintained list, not an official source list, and it does not establish current drop rates. Check the in-game item or source information where available before committing to a route. See the guide’s weapons page.
Fishing and player reports
Players discuss fishing as a way to obtain ores, but those discussions do not show that fishing is the fastest or most reliable method. One Reddit thread asks about fishing with a legendary rod and fish head; another asks for easy ore sources. Treat both as anecdotal player conversation rather than proof of a rate or guaranteed reward: fishing discussion and ore-farming discussion.

Ordinary Refinement Ore
The available community material does not establish a reliable, current source list or drop rates for ordinary Refinement Ore. Check the in-game source information rather than assuming Mythic Ore routes also provide the ordinary type.

There is no universally best stopping level in the available evidence: weapons receive different benefits, while the reported costs and failure chances change at each step. Compare the gain shown for your specific weapon with the exact ore and Wen required, the displayed failure chance, and the consequence of failure. The community figures show the reported failure chance rising sharply in later attempts, but they do not establish what upgrade level is worthwhile for every weapon or player.
