Restreamer’s documented “Multi Video source” feature does not create a playlist of prerecorded files. It adds separate video sources that you can switch between. The official wizard and quick start do not document a way to queue local video files for sequential playback, so there is no verified native playlist procedure to follow.
What Restreamer’s “Multi Video source” feature does
The Multi Video source documentation describes adding independent sources to the video bar. You add a source through the wizard, save it, and it appears in the bar; active signals are shown there, and a source can be deleted from that stream’s settings. The page does not describe ordering files, queuing them, or playing them one after another.
That makes “multiple sources with switching” different from “a playlist of prerecorded videos.” If you need automatic sequential playback, the documented feature does not establish that behavior.
What the documented setup supports
The Restreamer wizard documentation lists network and internal RTMP sources, along with hardware inputs such as a Raspberry Pi camera and USB device, and SRT. For network sources, it describes entering an address for a supported protocol and selecting video and audio settings. It does not document selecting a local video file or building a file playlist.

The Quick Start covers installation, adding a video source, embedding the player, and optional publication services. It is a source-and-publishing workflow, not a tutorial for sequencing prerecorded files.
Can you use FFmpeg as a workaround?
A separately configured FFmpeg playlist may be technically conceivable, but the official pages above do not confirm it as a supported, integrated Restreamer workflow. The Restreamer project page does not resolve that version-specific integration question in the cited material either.

For that reason, do not treat an FFmpeg command or a menu path found elsewhere as an official Restreamer playlist feature. Before building around an external workflow, verify that it works with your exact Restreamer release and that its output can be published through the Restreamer destination you intend to use.
Practical next steps
- If you only need to choose among multiple active inputs, follow the documented Multi Video source workflow and switch between sources in the video bar.
- If you need local prerecorded files to play sequentially, the official documentation cited here does not provide a native playlist setup. Check version-specific documentation or support before relying on an external integration.
- Do not use the deprecated 0.6.x documentation as proof of current playlist support. It describes multiple inputs as separate streams or instances and is explicitly marked deprecated.
