Yes. ChangeTower says it loads each page in a real browser and waits for it to render, so content added by JavaScript or an API after the initial HTML can be captured. Whether a particular page works still depends on whether ChangeTower can reach it and, for interaction-dependent pages, reproduce the required steps.

How ChangeTower handles JavaScript-loaded content

ChangeTower’s Website Change Monitoring FAQs say each check loads the page in a real browser and waits for rendering. In that model, content that arrives from a script or API after the initial HTML is included in the rendered page snapshot.

This is a statement of the service’s documented capability, not a guarantee for every page. The site must be reachable by the monitor, and timing, authentication, bot defenses, or page-specific behavior can affect the result.

Pages that need a login or another interaction

If content appears only after a user action, ChangeTower documents manual user actions that can be configured as part of a monitor setup. Its setup guide describes actions such as clicks and text entry; its FAQ gives signing in, dismissing a cookie banner, and choosing a region as examples.

  1. Enter the exact page URL when creating the monitor.
  2. Choose a check type and define the content or changes that matter. ChangeTower documents content and keyword checks, as well as Smart Monitor criteria described in natural language.
  3. Configure the manual actions needed to reach the target state, if the page requires them.
  4. Set the areas or elements to monitor so that the check focuses on relevant content.
  5. Test the precise page and workflow. A successful setup on one page or login flow does not establish that another will work.

See ChangeTower’s setup guide and FAQ for its documented setup and action options.

What can prevent a check from working?

  • Automated traffic is blocked: ChangeTower says sites that block automated traffic outright cannot be watched. Its FAQ names X, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram as examples.
  • The content requires an interaction: A login, region selection, or dismissed banner may require a configured action sequence. Test the exact workflow, since a page can change its behavior or reject automated access.
  • Dynamic parts create noise: Rotating banners, feeds, or other changing elements may produce irrelevant changes. ChangeTower documents selective monitoring to focus on page elements or ignore noisy areas.

ChangeTower describes these page-selection controls in its setup guide and security information. Its published materials do not establish a universal success rate or guarantee for every JavaScript implementation.

Rendered pages are not standalone JavaScript-file monitoring

ChangeTower’s documented JavaScript capability concerns what a browser renders on a webpage. The company says its snapshot includes the rendered page and underlying HTML, and that a page-level change such as a new script tag can be detected as a change. That is different from monitoring the contents of a standalone .js or .css file; ChangeTower says those files are not monitored as independent targets. See its security information.

If the requirement is to detect changes to the text or contents of a source file itself, do not assume that monitoring the page which references it provides that check.

Or skip the browser setup

If your goal is to capture a rendered page rather than monitor it for changes, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. A single request can return a screenshot or PDF. For example, this cURL request captures the target URL as WebP:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for API parameters and setup. ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie/consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; those steps can be disabled. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides screenshot and PDF tools for AI agents. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
