Save Page WE creates a local .html file; to back it up, upload that file to Google Drive using New > File upload, drag it into a Drive folder, or place it in your Google Drive for desktop folder. Verify the upload before deleting or moving your local copy.
1. Save the webpage as an HTML file
- In Firefox or Chrome, open the page you want to preserve.
- Use the Save Page WE toolbar button, or right-click and choose the extension’s page or button context-menu save action.
- When saving several pages, use the extension’s options for selected tabs or a list of URLs.
Save Page WE’s add-on listing describes its output as a single HTML file containing the page as currently displayed and referenced resources. The default extension is .html; filename settings can include the page title, date, time, host, and path. 2. Upload the file to Google Drive
On a computer, choose whichever route fits how you work:

3. Confirm the backup
- Wait for the upload or desktop sync to finish.
- Open the destination folder in Drive and confirm the HTML file appears there.
- Keep the local file until you have verified the uploaded copy. For a stronger check, open the Drive copy and confirm it downloads or opens as expected.
What the saved page does—and does not—preserve
Save Page WE’s Basic, Standard, and Custom save settings control which resources, such as images, audio or video, fonts, objects, CSS, and scripts, are included. Some cross-origin frames may not be saved, and scripts inside cross-origin frames are not saved. Is there a direct Save Page WE-to-Drive button?
The documented Save Page WE workflow saves a file, and Google’s documented way to upload that arbitrary local file is through Drive’s website or Drive for desktop. Google’s Save to Drive controls for certain PDFs or print workflows are separate and do not describe a direct transfer of a Save Page WE HTML archive.
