You cannot save a webpage as a PDF directly with Save Page WE: the extension saves a page as a single HTML file. To create a PDF, use Print Edit WE in Firefox if you want to edit or remove page elements first, or use Firefox’s built-in Save to PDF print destination for a straightforward PDF.

Save an edited webpage as PDF with Print Edit WE in Firefox
- Open the webpage in Firefox. Start Print Edit WE from its toolbar button, or right-click the page and choose Print Edit WE > Start Editing.
- Optionally hide, delete, format, or edit page elements. Preview the edited page to check what will appear in the saved file.
- Choose Save, then select Save As PDF.
- In the PDF setup panel, set the paper size, orientation, scale, background, content margins, and header/footer margins as needed. You can configure header and footer fields including the page title, URL, date/time, and page number.
Print Edit WE documents PDF export as a Firefox-only feature. Its documentation says Print Edit WE 26.1 or later is required for full compatibility with Save Page WE. For Print Edit WE’s separate Save As HTML feature, Save Page WE 14.0 or later is required. Check the Print Edit WE listing and documentation for current details.
Save a webpage as PDF with Firefox’s built-in print workflow
- Open the page in Firefox and open its print interface.
- Set Destination to Save to PDF.
- Review the preview. Adjust orientation, page range, paper size, scale, margins, or headers and footers if needed.
- Click Print and save the resulting PDF.
Pages can use print-specific styling, so the PDF may not look exactly like the page on screen. Mozilla advises checking the print preview for those differences before saving. See How to print web pages in Firefox.
Save a webpage as HTML with Save Page WE
If you need an offline browser-readable copy rather than a PDF, Save Page WE saves the page as a single HTML file. Its toolbar button can save selected tabs; its context menu also provides save actions. You can choose Basic, Standard, or Custom resource selections, with options related to lazy-loaded content and warnings or lists for unsaved resources. The default output extension is .html. The extension documentation notes that cross-origin frame scripts are never saved. The saved resources depend on the mode chosen and the page itself. Troubleshooting
There is no “Save As PDF” option in Save Page WE
That is expected: Save Page WE’s documented output is a single HTML file. Use Print Edit WE in Firefox for an edited PDF, or Firefox’s built-in print destination for a direct PDF.
Print Edit WE does not offer PDF export in my browser
The PDF feature is documented as Firefox-only. Open the page in Firefox and use Print Edit WE there, or use Firefox’s built-in Save to PDF destination.

The PDF layout differs from the webpage
Websites can define print styles that change how content appears on paper. Review the print preview and adjust the available print or PDF settings before saving.
The saved HTML copy is missing content or resources
Save Page WE’s selected resource mode affects what is saved, and some resources may not be included; cross-origin frame scripts are never saved. Check the extension’s unsaved-resource warnings or list, and review its lazy-loaded-content options if the page relies on content loaded as you scroll.
