Sign in to the website in your browser, open the page you need, wait for its content to load, then save the page with Save Page WE. The extension captures the page as it is displayed; it does not bypass a login or guarantee that protected, interactive, or cross-origin content will work offline. Open the saved file and verify the specific content you need before relying on it.
Save the page while you are signed in
- Log in normally. Use the site’s own sign-in flow in your browser, then navigate to the exact page you want to keep. Save Page WE documents saving the currently displayed page, not a special workflow for authenticated pages. Save Page WE on Mozilla Add-ons
- Wait for the content you need. Let delayed results, images, or other page elements appear. Save Page WE offers a delay option and options for loading lazy content; these can help when material is not present immediately after the page first loads. Save Page WE features
- Start the save. Use the Save Page WE toolbar button, the page context menu, or the documented Alt+A shortcut. Alt+C cancels a save. Save Page WE controls

- Inspect the saved file. Open the HTML file and check the text, images, and embedded content that matter to you. If offline access is your goal, disconnect from the network for the check; a downloaded file by itself does not prove that all page content was captured.
What the saved HTML can and cannot preserve
Save Page WE describes its output as a single HTML file and can embed many page resources. Its basic, standard, and custom save settings affect what resources are included, but the file should be treated as a snapshot rather than a replay of the authenticated website. It does not preserve a guarantee of your logged-in session or future access to protected content. Save Page WE documentation
- Page content: Content already rendered in the browser is the best candidate for capture. Dynamic content that depends on later server requests or scripts may not behave as it did on the live site.
- Cross-origin frames: The extension says scripts in cross-origin frames are never saved, and not all cross-origin frames can be captured. A page can therefore appear complete online while some embedded material is missing in the local file.
- Verification: Save Page WE can show warnings and lists of unsaved resources. Review those warnings and test the exact offline content you care about.
If Save Page WE does not save the page
Try the other save method
Save Page WE documents an old and a new save method. The Chrome Web Store listing says the new method can save pages that the old method cannot, and that the old method may fail silently on some pages in Chrome 84 or later. If a save appears to do nothing or omits content, check the extension’s selected save method and try the new method. Check browser download behavior
If the save completes but you cannot find the file, check the browser’s download location and settings. The extension uses the browser’s download behavior to determine where the HTML is written.

Look for content that was never captured
If a frame, image, or interactive element is missing, review Save Page WE’s warnings and unsaved-resource list. Reopen the live page while signed in, wait for the missing content to load, and save again. Some cross-origin resources or behavior may not be capturable even after retrying.
Firefox’s built-in Save Page As option
Firefox also offers Save Page As from the browser menu. Mozilla documents four formats: Web page, complete; Web page, HTML only; Text files; and All files. Web page, complete saves the page and pictures in a separate supporting directory, while Web page, HTML only saves the HTML without pictures.
