To save a bank webpage as a local PDF, open it on a computer and use the browser’s Print command, then choose Save as PDF if that destination is available. Evernote Web Clipper saves a webpage clip to an Evernote note; making that note into a PDF is a separate step. If the bank offers a statement or transaction download, use that first when you need an official record.

Save the bank webpage directly as a PDF

  1. Sign in to your bank through its usual website and open the page you need. For a statement or transaction record, check for the bank’s own Download, Export, or Statements option first. Banks differ, and there is no universal menu path.
  2. Open the browser’s print dialog. In Chrome desktop, choose File > Print, or press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux and Command+P on Mac. Chrome’s directions are at Chrome Help.
  3. In the print preview, choose Save as PDF if it is offered as the destination. The label and available destinations can vary by operating system and installed print destinations.
  4. Review the preview, including the page count and visible content, then save the file to a location you control.
  5. Open the saved PDF and check it before relying on it. Look for missing rows, cut-off columns, awkward page breaks, or sensitive details you did not intend to include.

A browser printout captures the page as rendered in the browser; it is not necessarily the same as a bank-issued statement. If you need a formal statement, prefer the bank’s own statement download when available.

What Web Clipper does—and how to make a PDF from a clip

Evernote Web Clipper captures webpage content into Evernote. Its basic workflow is to open the extension, choose a clip type, and save the clip to a notebook. That saved note and a PDF file on your computer are different outputs. Evernote documents printing a note to PDF as a separate action: open the note, choose More actions, select Print, set the destination to Save as PDF, and save it. See Evernote’s Web Clipper guide and note printing instructions.

Choose a clip type for the material

  • Article: captures the main article section, which can suit text-focused pages.
  • Simplified Article: strips some page layout for a cleaner reading copy.
  • Full page: aims to preserve the page layout.
  • Screenshot: saves a static visual image rather than a structured, searchable page capture.
  • Selection: captures material you select on the page.

Available clip modes can vary by browser. Evernote notes that complex designs, interactive content, and multimedia may cause clipping problems. For mode details and browser limitations, see Evernote’s Web Clipper documentation.

When the page is already a PDF

Web Clipper can save a PDF that is already open in the browser as a note attachment. Evernote documents that its PDF clip option is unavailable in Firefox because of browser restrictions. This is not the same as turning an arbitrary signed-in bank webpage into a local PDF.

Choose the route that fits what you need

What you need Good starting point Trade-off
A local PDF of the rendered webpage Browser Print > Save as PDF Directly creates a file, but dynamic pages may not print completely; inspect the preview and saved PDF.
A searchable, organized copy in Evernote Web Clipper, then print or export the note as PDF if needed Clipping and producing a PDF are separate steps.
A visual record of a page or section Web Clipper Screenshot It is a static image capture, with less semantic or searchable page structure.
An official statement or transaction record The bank’s statement, download, or export feature, if present Availability and steps depend on the bank and the account interface.

Fix common capture problems

  • Rows or columns are missing in the PDF: inspect the print preview and try another layout or page setting available in the browser. If the bank provides a statement download, use that for a complete record.
  • The page looks different in the PDF: bank pages may load content dynamically or use complex layouts. Try the browser’s print route for a local PDF, or try another Web Clipper mode; Evernote also suggests selecting content manually or capturing a screenshot when clipping fails.
  • The clip is incomplete or hard to read: switch between Article, Simplified Article, Full page, Selection, or Screenshot according to whether readable text, layout, selected details, or a visual record matters most.
  • You cannot find a PDF clip option: clipping a webpage and saving an already-open PDF are different cases. Evernote documents a Firefox restriction for its PDF clip format; use the browser print workflow for a local PDF of a webpage.
  • The print dialog has no “Save as PDF” destination: available destinations depend on the operating system and installed print options. The exact label is not guaranteed on every setup; consult the browser or operating-system print options.

Keep account information in mind

Bank pages can contain account and transaction details. Google advises using only necessary extensions on devices with sensitive information; its guidance is available at Chrome Web Store Help. Because Web Clipper stores captured content in an Evernote account, using the browser’s built-in print workflow and saving locally can avoid adding that service to the workflow. Local saving is not risk-free: choose a suitable save location and check what the PDF contains.

For a public webpage screenshot, ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request API. It is not a way to capture a private bank page that requires your account login; do not send bank credentials or sensitive account content to a screenshot service.

Example using a public page:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for API details. It removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are not billed; and its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Learn about ScreenshotNeo or sign up for the free plan.
