If by “Web Clipper” you mean the TagSpaces Web Clipper, its documentation says its Save Complete Page button saves a webpage as a PDF in Firefox. These are separate workflows; Firefox does not have a generic Web Clipper button.
Save a webpage as a PDF using Firefox’s built-in print option
This desktop-oriented method uses Firefox’s print preview. Mozilla Support documents the print controls and notes that a page may print differently from how it looks in the browser.
- Open the webpage you want to save.
- Open the Firefox menu and select Print….
- In the print preview, set Destination to Save to PDF.
- Review the preview and adjust settings as needed.
- Click Print, then choose the file location and name if Firefox prompts you.

Settings to check before saving
- Page range: Save only the pages you need.
- Orientation and paper size: Change these if content is cut off or poorly arranged.
- Scale and margins: Adjust them to fit content more legibly.
- Headers and footers: Turn them on or off according to whether you want print metadata.
- Backgrounds and color: Enable background printing if the page relies on colored fills or images.
- Simplified: If Firefox offers this option, try it for a less cluttered text page. Mozilla says Simplified is available only where supported and disables background printing.
Use TagSpaces Web Clipper in Firefox
“Web Clipper” can refer to different extensions. TagSpaces documents a Firefox action named Save Complete Page that saves the webpage as a PDF. Its documentation also distinguishes this from editable HTML or Markdown captures, screenshots, bookmarks, and saving a page that is already a PDF. Install TagSpaces Web Clipper from the Firefox Add-ons directory, then use the extension’s own popup controls. The cited documentation identifies the PDF action but does not provide a complete current installation walkthrough, so use the extension’s listing and in-browser prompts for the current setup.
What to expect from the PDF
A PDF captures a printable representation of the page, not a guarantee that its interactive behavior or live content will be preserved. The website may provide print-specific styling, so the saved file can differ from the page on screen. Mozilla Support puts it this way: “Web pages can set themselves up to appear different on paper than they look on screen, so don’t be surprised to see some changes.”

If layout differs from what you expected, return to print preview and try changing orientation, scale, margins, format, or background printing. If the page is cluttered and Simplified is unavailable, an article-focused extension may be an option; check its permissions and current listing before installing it.
Choosing a Firefox PDF extension
You do not need an extension for ordinary PDF saving. If you want a separate clipper or more specialized controls, decide based on what portion of a page you need and what access the add-on requests. When comparing add-ons, check whether they capture the full page, a cleaned article, or selected content; the controls they provide for page layout; their permission scope and data disclosures; and how recently they were maintained. Ratings, user counts, and update dates are snapshots, not enduring measures of quality.
Troubleshooting Firefox webpage PDFs
The PDF does not look like the webpage
Check print preview first. Try a different orientation, scale, margin, or paper size, and review background printing and Simplified format. The website may use print-specific styling, so an exact on-screen match is not assured.

Choose Simplified in print preview if Firefox offers it. Otherwise, consider a reputable extension with an article or reader mode, after reviewing its current permissions and listing. Firefox’s print guidance gives Print Edit WE as an example of an extension for editing content before printing; this article does not evaluate it.
I can’t find “Save to PDF”
Open Print… from Firefox’s menu and look for Destination in the preview. The TagSpaces action is separate: it appears in that extension’s popup as Save Complete Page, not as a general Firefox print control.

I only need a source note, not a PDF
A clipper that saves Markdown may better suit note-taking. Obsidian’s Web Clipper documentation describes Markdown capture and Firefox distribution; it is not presented as a PDF exporter. See the Obsidian Web Clipper repository.
