You can point IRL Pro at a YouTube stream key, but the available setup instructions do not establish that IRL Pro can replace Gyre’s cloud-based, continuously looping prerecorded-video service. Before ending your Gyre stream, confirm that IRL Pro supports your specific needs—especially looping prerecorded files, unattended operation, and recovery after an interruption—and test those behaviors while Gyre is still running.
What changes when you move from Gyre to IRL Pro?
| Area | Gyre | IRL Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Documented operating model | Cloud service that sends uploaded prerecorded files as a continuous stream; Gyre says the computer can be switched off. | Android broadcasting app that sends a feed to a publish URL using RTMP or SRT. |
| Prerecorded playback | Continuous playback from a playlist is part of the documented workflow. | The available guide does not establish support for looping prerecorded files indefinitely. |
| Unattended operation and recovery | Gyre describes a cloud workflow for continuous playback. | The available instructions do not establish unattended scheduled starts or automatic recovery after a network or app interruption. |
| YouTube connection | Gyre documents both channel authorization and manual setup workflows. | Configure a YouTube stream key and publish URL, then select a matching protocol in the app. |
| Monitoring described | Cloud stream operation. | The guide describes a Streaming status and live bitrate card after connection. |
This is not a confirmed feature-for-feature migration. Gyre’s playlist, metadata, and stream settings are not documented as directly exportable to IRL Pro. The IRL Pro guide describes sending a broadcast from Android, but does not confirm that the app can reproduce Gyre’s continuous prerecorded-video workflow. Gyre’s 24/7 setup guide and the IRL Pro guide describe different operating models.
Check whether IRL Pro fits your stream before cutover
Do not stop Gyre just because IRL Pro can connect to YouTube. First get current confirmation from IRL Pro documentation or support, or validate the behavior yourself, for each requirement that matters to your channel:
- Can it play the prerecorded files you use and loop them continuously?
- Can it run unattended for the duration you need, without requiring an operator to restart playback?
- What happens after the Android app closes, the phone reboots, or the network drops? Does it resume automatically, and under what conditions?
- Can it maintain the intended stream for your schedule and source material?
The available IRL Pro instructions do not answer these questions. Treat the answers as unverified until confirmed; do not assume a phone app duplicates a cloud service’s operation.

Manage connected PTZ cameras, tally light, video/audio, OSD, work mode, streams, network, and system settings. Support for VISCA over IP encoder workflows enables flexible PTZ control, while the dashboard provides video preview and system status.
Inventory the current Gyre setup
Before changing anything, record the details you may need to recreate in YouTube or the replacement workflow. Gyre describes connecting a destination and preparing a playlist of uploaded files; a separate Gyre article says YouTube channel authorization can create the broadcast, bind a stream key, carry over metadata, and start the stream. Manual setup remains available, but neither workflow establishes a direct export into IRL Pro. Read Gyre’s explanation of YouTube channel authorization.
- YouTube channel and the current broadcast’s title, description, and visibility.
- Stream-key arrangement and any scheduled or monetization settings you need to preserve.
- Original video files and playlist order. Keep the source files available; do not assume Gyre’s uploaded copies can be transferred into IRL Pro.
- The stream’s intended resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and protocol, if known.
Configure IRL Pro and YouTube
- Confirm the replacement’s playback and recovery behavior. Resolve the capability questions above before scheduling a cutover. If IRL Pro cannot meet a requirement, do not treat it as a drop-in replacement.
- Get the current destination details from YouTube Live Control Room. YouTube’s encoder setup uses a stream URL and stream key. Treat the key as a credential: do not publish it or share it beyond the people who need it to configure the encoder. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube and update the encoder with the new details. See YouTube’s live-stream encoder instructions.
- Choose a protocol supported at both ends. IRL Pro’s guide supports RTMP and SRT and instructs users to select the protocol for the key, copy the publish URL, and use the same protocol in the app. For supported encoders and destination configurations, YouTube documents RTMPS—RTMP over TLS/SSL—and says its URL is available in Live Control Room. Use RTMPS when the app and configuration support it; otherwise choose a protocol available to both ends.
- Replace the full URL when the key configuration changes. IRL Pro notes that changing a key’s region or protocol, or rotating the key, invalidates the previous URL. Copy the current publish URL and replace the old value in the app. For RTMP, the guide says the URL already includes the key, so a separate key field is not needed.
- Enter conservative video settings. In IRL Pro, paste the complete publish URL and set resolution, frame rate, and bitrate below the key’s published cap. The guide includes plan-specific caps and example starting points, but those values may change; check the current key or account dashboard instead of relying on older figures. If the picture or connection is unstable, reduce the bitrate or resolution and test again.
- Start a test broadcast without ending Gyre. Verify the YouTube destination receives the feed and that IRL Pro reports Streaming with a live bitrate card, as described in its guide. Then test the continuous-playback, unattended-operation, and recovery behaviors you require. The guide’s connection indicators do not by themselves verify those behaviors.
- Cut over only after validation. Once the replacement has passed the checks that matter to you, move the channel to the new broadcast. Keep the existing Gyre stream running until that point; the available vendor instructions do not describe a tested migration procedure or guarantee uninterrupted transfer.
Plan for YouTube archiving and channel rules
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish that a longer continuous broadcast will be archived as one video. If you need an archive, plan around the documented limit rather than assuming a 24/7 stream produces one complete recording. See YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance.

Before broadcasting, make sure you have the rights needed for every video and audio track in the playlist. A successful encoder connection is not permission to use copyrighted material. Also review YouTube’s rules for live content and monetization: technical continuity does not establish that a stream complies with platform policies or qualifies for monetization.
Troubleshoot common migration problems
- IRL Pro will not connect: Check that the full publish URL is pasted correctly and that the app and destination use the same protocol. If you changed the key’s region or protocol or rotated it, fetch the current URL and replace the old one.
- The stream key or URL no longer works: A changed or rotated key can invalidate the previous destination details. Copy the current URL from Live Control Room and update IRL Pro. If the key may have been exposed, rotate it rather than continuing to use it.
- The feed connects but does not behave like Gyre: A connection only shows that the app can send a feed. It does not prove that prerecorded files loop, the app can remain unattended, or playback recovers after an interruption. Verify each capability with current IRL Pro guidance or a controlled test.
- Video transmission is unstable: Confirm that resolution, frame rate, and bitrate remain within the current key’s cap. Lower settings and retest; the available instructions do not support a universal bitrate recommendation for every plan and connection.
- The broadcast stops while unattended: The available IRL Pro instructions do not establish automatic recovery after an app or network interruption. Confirm the app’s current recovery behavior and test it before relying on it for a continuous channel.
- You expect a complete archive of a long stream: YouTube’s stated automatic archiving applies to streams under 12 hours; it does not promise one complete archive for a longer broadcast.
