You can schedule a YouTube live event in YouTube Studio, then select that event in CameraFi Live and start broadcasting when you’re ready. CameraFi’s documented steps do not confirm that the app can automatically play a prerecorded video and go live unattended at the scheduled time. If that is what you need, verify the feature in the current app before relying on it.
What CameraFi Live’s documented workflow does
CameraFi’s tutorial describes a two-part process: create a scheduled live event in YouTube Studio, then select it in CameraFi Live. The app’s documented flow ends with the user starting the broadcast; it does not establish automatic playback of an uploaded video or an unattended start. CameraFi’s February 2020 tutorial uses the phrase “You can bring it and broadcast with CameraFi Live,” but does not describe automatic airing.
Schedule a YouTube event and start it through CameraFi Live
1. Create the scheduled event in YouTube Studio
- On a computer, open YouTube Studio and choose Create, then Go Live.
- Choose the stream setup and enter the event’s title, description, audience information, and optional thumbnail.
- Turn on Schedule for later, choose the date and time, then create the event.
2. Select the event in CameraFi Live
- Open CameraFi Live and choose READY.
- Select Events. Use the paper-and-clock icon to find the scheduled video, select it, and tap Done.
- When you are ready to broadcast, tap GO in CameraFi Live.
These labels follow CameraFi’s February 2020 tutorial and may differ in newer versions. If a label has changed, follow the current app interface rather than assuming the feature is unavailable.
Scheduled event is not the same as automatic prerecorded playback
Scheduling creates the YouTube event in advance. CameraFi’s documented steps then let you bring that event into the app and require you to start the broadcast. They do not confirm that you can upload a video file, set an automatic start time, and have CameraFi play it as a live broadcast without an operator.

YouTube Help separately describes managing a scheduled stream in Live Control Room: open Manage, select the scheduled stream, and launch it. That is YouTube’s control-room workflow, not proof that CameraFi will automatically start playback. See YouTube Help’s scheduled-stream guidance.
If unattended prerecorded playback is essential, confirm that the current CameraFi Live version explicitly supports automatic playback and starting at a scheduled time before planning around it. The cited CameraFi instructions do not verify those capabilities.

Check channel eligibility and event availability
YouTube’s live-streaming tips say a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Check your channel status and available live features in YouTube Studio before the event. YouTube live streaming tips.
CameraFi’s subscriber guidance has changed: its February 2020 tutorial cautioned that scheduled live video might not be available to channels below 1,000 subscribers, while its July 2025 overview says Events are available at 50 or more subscribers and suggests Go Live Now below that. Those dated statements conflict, so neither threshold should be treated as a universal current rule. Check which options appear in your YouTube Studio account and CameraFi Live version. Common problems and what to check
- The scheduled event does not appear in CameraFi: Confirm that you created it in YouTube Studio and selected the intended YouTube account in CameraFi Live. Refresh or reopen the event list, then check whether your account and app version expose Events.
- You cannot find the same menu labels: CameraFi’s step-by-step tutorial is from 2020. Follow the current app UI and consult CameraFi’s current instructions if the labels differ.
- YouTube Studio does not offer scheduling or live streaming: Check channel verification and whether the channel has had a live-streaming restriction in the past 90 days. Availability can also depend on the account and app version.
- You expect a video to start without you: The documented workflow requires tapping GO when ready. Do not assume scheduled-event creation also schedules prerecorded playback; verify automatic playback and unattended start with CameraFi before depending on them.
