To save an entire scrollable webpage as a screenshot on a Chromebook, use OneNote Web Clipper: open the page in Chrome, select the extension, choose Full Page, then select Clip. The Chromebook’s built-in Screen Capture tool takes full-screen, window, or partial screenshots; Google’s instructions do not describe it as a way to capture an entire page beyond the visible screen.
Capture a full webpage with OneNote Web Clipper
- Open the webpage in Chrome on your Chromebook.
- Select the OneNote Web Clipper icon in Chrome’s toolbar. Sign in or confirm permissions if prompted.
- Choose Full Page to capture the current webpage as a screenshot image. Choose Region instead if you only need a selected part of the page.
- If needed, use the Location menu to choose a OneNote notebook section, and add an optional note.
- Select Clip to send the capture to OneNote.
These steps follow Microsoft’s OneNote Web Clipper instructions. They do not certify compatibility with every Chromebook model or managed school device: Chrome extension availability and administrator policies can affect whether you can install or run it.
Why the built-in Chromebook screenshot may not be enough
Google’s Chromebook Screen Capture tool offers full-screen, partial, and window screenshots. To open it, use the screenshot key or open Screen Capture from Settings or the quick settings area. If your Chromebook has no screenshot key, Google lists Shift + Ctrl + Show windows as the shortcut. Captures go to Downloads by default and are automatically copied to the clipboard.
Those modes capture screen content. Google’s instructions do not describe a scrolling capture that stitches below-the-fold content into one full-page image. Use OneNote Web Clipper’s Full Page option when the goal is a screenshot of the entire webpage.

Check extension access on a managed Chromebook
If OneNote Web Clipper is missing or will not run, your school or organization may restrict Chrome extensions. Check whether the extension is available to your account and ask your administrator about the policy if installation is blocked. Microsoft’s instructions describe the extension workflow, but do not separately establish that it is available on every Chromebook or managed configuration.
Other web clippers and Chromebook compatibility
A Chrome Web Store listing describes a third-party extension named “Clipper — Full Page Screenshot,” with top-to-bottom capture and image or PDF export. Extension features and availability can change; review its current listing and requested permissions before installing. The listing’s privacy and local-processing statements are developer claims, not independently verified here.

Evernote’s Web Clipper describes full-page and selected-area screen captures, as well as annotation and other clip types. However, Evernote’s operating-system requirements page states, “Evernote no longer supports Chromebooks.” For that reason, do not assume Evernote is a reliable Chromebook destination just because its Web Clipper describes full-page capture.
