It may hide a cookie banner that is fixed over the content, but it is a general setting—not a dedicated cookie-banner remover—and can also hide sticky navigation or other fixed content.
Try Nimbus’s Hide fixed elements setting
- Choose a capture mode. Select Entire page for a full-page image, or use a visible-area or selected-area capture if you only need what is on screen. Nimbus documents whole-page and selected-area capture options in its Screenshot guide.
- Change the capture settings. Select Hide fixed elements. Nimbus’s guide specifically recommends trying this option when page elements interfere with a screenshot.
- Capture again and inspect the output. Check whether the banner is gone and whether any fixed header, menu, or other content you wanted to retain has disappeared too.
The setting targets fixed elements generally. Nimbus’s published guide does not describe a dedicated cookie-banner toggle or promise that this setting will remove every consent banner. The same Nimbus Screenshot for Edge guide is available if you use the Edge extension.
If the banner remains
If the site provides a close or reject control, use the appropriate option and capture the page again. Do not accept consent solely to improve the screenshot: accepting may save a site preference. A close or reject control may not be available, and site behavior varies. If you cannot dismiss the banner appropriately, capture it as shown or try hiding fixed elements and document that visual change if the screenshot is being shared.
A banner may not be fixed, may return while the page scrolls, or may be implemented in a way the generic setting does not affect. A practical guide to removing cookie banners from screenshots also recommends dismissing an overlay manually where possible and notes that it can reappear during a long-page capture. Check the entire result rather than assuming the banner stayed gone throughout the capture.

Troubleshooting
- The banner is still visible: Confirm that Hide fixed elements is selected, recapture, and try the site’s close or reject control if available. The setting is not guaranteed to handle every banner.
- A sticky header or menu disappeared: The setting can hide fixed elements beyond the banner. Turn it off and try an appropriate site-level dismissal instead.
- The banner returns partway down the image: Inspect the full-page capture, since an overlay can reappear during scrolling. Try an available site-level dismissal and capture again.
- The banner cannot be dismissed appropriately: Keep it visible or use the fixed-element setting only if the resulting omissions are acceptable. Do not accept consent merely to remove the overlay.
